Does H&R make coilovers for it? I imagine they woudl fit fine.
Bimmer9938 06-19-2004, 08:26 PM All I've found on the market is Eibach pro-kit and H&R sport springs.
BAVARIAN323i 06-22-2004, 01:50 AM If the sport springs will fit then so will the coilover kit (or cupkit)
Dblock2151 06-22-2004, 05:54 AM Get the Eibachs...It lowers the front and rear 1.2 inches, while the H&R springs lower the front 1.2 inches and the back 1.0 inches...
remiX5 06-22-2004, 09:15 AM eibach springs it is then...thanxs everyone for your comment...does anyone know wat setup that one silver x5 with the 22's acs type II wheel uses..that car seem the lowest of all x5. the pic of the car is in the modded x5 thread.

They don't make a coilover or cup kit for the X5 .
Bimmer9938 06-22-2004, 11:38 PM I got my H&Rs today , I'll post some pics when they get installed.
Elusive303 06-23-2004, 12:22 AM Aren't 4.4 and 4.6s on air suspension in the rear? I was inquiring about dropping my 4.4 a while back and wheel power told me the springs are only for the front. (1.2-1.5 lower). The rear has an adjustable air suspension, they told me to have the dealer lower it, when I called them they said they wouldn't touch it because of warranty issues.
Well good luck looking for what you want and keep us updated.
Bimmer9938 06-23-2004, 12:28 AM As far as I know only the 3.0 NON sports package has the coils in the rear , You gotta b trick the meter to lower all the others, so I've heard.
Ask Sharka , he did it to his.
fast4d 06-26-2004, 12:28 PM the eibach kit comes with front springs and some hardware to lower the rear air bag spring
Bimmer9938 06-26-2004, 03:12 PM yea , I know both companys make a front spring package , not really sure whats involved with the installation. I hoping to get my springs installed next week. -Jon
janix 06-26-2004, 04:54 PM The H&R springs (and I'd guess the Eibach ones too) consist of a set of springs for the front (simple replacement of the OEM springs) and a set of shorter rear links for X5s with the rear air ride suspension. Once the springs and links are installed you can have your dealer lower the rear via DIS to make the car look more leveled out in the back.
Installation is pretty easy and shoudn't take much longer than 4hrs (the front springs are 90% of the work).
I have pictures of my X5 lowered with the AC Schnitzer kit but the overal lowering is pretty much the same for the H&R and ACS (I had the H&R springs before I got the ACS). You can find the pictures at http://www.janixworld.com/x5/AC_Schnitzer/

remiX5 06-26-2004, 10:37 PM thanxs for everyone replies....im thinkin of ordering a set of h&r from tirerack tonite...cant beat their price. janix, after you install the h&r lowering spring....it says we have to bring our car to the dealer so they can program the air suspension to drop evenly? can you fill me in here?
janix 06-27-2004, 09:51 PM Hi,
after the install of the H&R springs you should have the car go at least once through the Ride Height adjustment process to make sure it's leveled correctly. I have copied the relevant information on DIS and Ride Height Offset adjustment to http://www.janixworld.com/x5/misc/DIS%20Ride%20Height%20Offset.pdf (http://) .
As for pricing and installation you may want to checkout Turner Motorsport (talk to Kevin from their service department) as they usually beat any price and have very reasonable installation fees as well.
