Any input on this? I currently use my A032r's but wanted to try the Hoosiers since I am doing more DE's than auto-x's. Thanks for any feedback.

A3S03s will not last on a road course and will get greasy-the compound is meant for autox. The R3S03s are the road course version of those tires. sunir 06-16-2004, 12:51 PM groove those suckers and use them for rain tires on the track!! That's what I'm getting from Bob Woodman tire...hand grooved Hoosiers for wet usage competition! sunir 06-16-2004, 12:54 PM I currently use my A032r's ...throw those out as soon as possible, they're junk! I've got a couple of used sets of Hoosier GAC tires if you're interested...they are 225/45-17 but believe me they are wider than 235's from toyo or Kumho and they work much better... CSLBILL 06-16-2004, 07:07 PM use them for DE's? The A032r are my street tires too, although they arent the best in grip, they are better than most non R tires. Although I may go to RA1's after these wear out..How's your LTW? sunir 06-17-2004, 09:49 AM Yeah the RA-1 is a much better tire...I hate A032R yokos, for the money there are so many better tires. If you want a set of Hoosier GAC's (last seasons Grand Am tire) let me know as I have 2 sets leftover... The LTW is doin' OK, we are getting it ready for Putnam Park at the end of this month, hopefully it'll be ready in time... CSLBILL 06-17-2004, 11:02 AM To a fellow LTW owner?? If so, I'll take them. If not, how much? sunir 06-17-2004, 11:20 AM These are Hoosier GAC tires in a 225/45-17 size used in last years Grand Am series. They will fit on a 7.5" wheel to a 9.5" wheel...they are WIDE and have the section width similar to a 235 size other brand R-comp like a Toyo or Kumho, so you don't have to modify your fender lips to fit them which was a criteria for me last year when I ordered like 7 or 8 sets of these...I got them from used race tire distributer who has built relationships with a lot of teams and gets their qualifying take offs. As for these 2 remaining sets, looks like one set has several days left and another set has a day or so left on it, these use an 'endurance' compound so they are designed to last longer than the R3S03 from last year. I used several of these sets in DE's last year and they stick real well and last a lot longer than the R3S03 tires....I am competing this year on the R3S04 tire so these 2 sets of GAC's have to go, and now I have modified my fender lips to fit a 245 size tire on a 9" wide wheel...also I don't think we are allowed to compete on last years Grand Am tire in my class. I'll sell them to you for $600 plus shipping for the 2 sets (8 tires total)... |
