After me and my cousin picked up my little brother from school, I spotted an S2000. So I catch up to him and drop it into 2nd at about 30. I give the throttle a little blip to give the sign and he takes the bait. As soon as I hear his engine rev up I stepped on it. Now I didnt floor it because I'm supposed to be breaking in my engine...so I put it about 3/4 of the way down. We're even for about 2 seconds a the most and I switch to 3rd he starts to fade into my rear view mirrors. We follow each other to a road that runs by the lake thats 2 lanes wide open and gun it. I'm ahead around the twisties by about 2 car lengths the whole time...the only suspension mod I have is H&R Sport srings and my car is bouncy...I was surprised. So I slow down and he does the usual "sore loser fly-by". I was very pleased with the outcome. With my previous engine I could barely hang for a little bit with this car before they walked away from me.

I bet the guy was wondering how he got beat so bad by a 325is. (I still have my badge on):D

Quest -

just out of curiousity - why did you go with a 3.0l rather than a 3.2l?

Thanks guys. I am enjoying the car very much especially after holding my ground against my friends 2001TA last night up to 130mph...one time I even started to pull away from him...ahh yes...gotta love BMW M Power.

I decided to go with the 3.0L because I had talked to Karl at AA and he said I needed some extra stuff to add the 3.2L to my intake manifold which I really didnt have the extra money for...but in the end with this motor, I still needed the extra stuff which was mainly sensors that I had to purchase because my car was NON-VANOS before and the new wire harness needed 2 knock sensors, a cam sensor, and a crank sensor. It was a big hassle kind of but its over now and I'm happy with it. I'm not sure how much power difference there is with a 3.2L but at this point I really dont care. My car has turned into a beast and I love it.:redspot :alright

I don't think you would have seen all that much difference...and I definitely understand how quickly the project costs add up!

Sounds like your car is the ultimate sleeper:orangesle

S2000 is pretty dead even with an M3.
If you were breaking in your engine and going easy on it, you shouldnt have been able to take him. I have driven both cars extensively and know that if you push the s2k to its limits it can keep up with an m3, and sometimes even get the best of it.

Well my M3 motor isnt stock. I had 2 other people in the car who witnessed it also I have no reason to post up a fake kill. Maybe the other driver sucked.

The s2k is only even with the m3 with a VERY good driver.... the thing has absolutely zero torque (somethin like 170 ft lbs) so you have to keep the revs HIGH.... if this guys didnt' do that then the s2k isn't ver fast at all:mdrbig
