I talked to a couple of people today at the NON-mountain drive / street racing event <g> about places locally to get wheels refinsihed.
Someone recommended WheelWright in Marietta... any other recommendations before I call them?

I had my old set of wheels refinished at Wheelwright. David Nash does good work.
Another local refinishing shop is Wheel Wizard. rwindleyme02 posted his experiences with Wheel Wizard in this forum - search on the terms "wheel wizard" and you should find it easily.

If you're looking at refinishing your OEM 18's, Wheel Wizard can't do it, not sure about the other place. They said they couldn't match the finish when I called after NTB got through with mine. Worked out nicely though since now I get a whole new wheel because they can't fix it. ;)

I am looking to getting my OEM 18's done possibly (if I cant find OEM 19's first) and also getting my Schnitzers done.
However, If I can find a descent set of OEM 19's for a good price, then this whole game plan is going to get thrown out the window.

To be fair to Wheel Wizard, it's going to be difficult for any wheel refinisher to match the finish on the E46 M3 18" wheels. The factory paint (Chrome Shadow) is illegal to import to the U.S. due to EPA regulations.

I get the impression that it's really hard to match those 18's - I think I would go the 19's route if I were you, especially given the cost to have it done even if you could find somewhere that can do it. I think the OEM 19's are a great choice.

Yeah I definitely wasn't knocking them - as a matter of fact I was impressed that they told me right off the bat that they wouldn't be able to match it.

Chrome shadow is impossible to match. Nobody will even pretend that they can do it and if they say they can be very leary about it.
The only place I heard that does a decent job, not perfect but decent is a guy in California. But that is a bit too far to be cost effective. I talked to this guy in fact. His prices are very good but the shipping kills the deal.
Personally I ended up buying a new wheel in the end to replace the wheel that was curbed since I bought the car.
