tabasco 06-13-2004, 11:34 PM Check out the chicken that has been hanging out on a legde outside of a co-workers 6th floor office for the past few weeks!

G. P. Burdell 06-14-2004, 07:57 AM Awesome picture.
One day, many years ago, I was on the top level of the Student Center parking deck at Georgia Tech, and a peregrine falcon flew right over my head.
There's also a red-tailed hawk that lives somewhere on the campus. I saw it dining on a freshly-killed pigeon outside the CE building.
BimmerKat 06-14-2004, 08:40 AM He's absolutely beautiful!
BimmerDawg 06-14-2004, 08:51 AM Heh, that's pretty damn cool.
Bremsen 06-14-2004, 09:14 AM whoa, thats pretty sweet. Awesome that you were able to get so close.
rwindleyme02 06-14-2004, 09:17 AM Badass.

 ...but still :nono :nono :nono
Pick off things that aren't cool birds of prey, like bowling pins and paper silhouettes. Them bowling pins are sneaky.
WEB150 06-14-2004, 01:25 PM Beautiful bird. I spent yesterday afternoon freeing a 6' rat snake from the plastic netting my mother has around her garden. The netting, meant to keep deer from mowing down her garden, traps snakes better than the crazy Aussie on the Discovery Channel. It took me about an hour and a half to snip all the plastic netting off of him. After all that effort, birds like the one shown above will probably pick him off tomorrow. If anyone ever wants a snake, let me know. I come across about one a week.
bcart1991 06-14-2004, 02:48 PM Predatory animals are almost always the better looking species. How many people have ever said "Wow, that's a beautiful cow" besides a farmer? Not many.
Think about it. Hawks/eagles/etc., lions/tigers/cougars, sharks/barracudas, all pretty animals.
I'm a predator, but I'm not very pretty:(

zeit00 06-14-2004, 03:01 PM Some predator.. A soccer ball took you out.. ;)

That is fine and we will all turn you into the game warden for shooting a protected bird ;)
///MZG 06-14-2004, 05:03 PM I think it might be just a crow that got partially spray painted.
03X530 06-14-2004, 05:06 PM Is that pigeon shit i see the hawk stepping on? :dunno
VANCE 06-15-2004, 10:59 AM that is a cool pic. i think you should try to climb out there and pet him!
tabasco 06-15-2004, 11:46 AM Unfortunately the windows won't open. Maybe I could get my climbing gear and rapel from the roof???
G. P. Burdell 06-15-2004, 11:52 AM Best to leave the hawk alone. If it doesn't fly away from you when you approach it, it'll cut you up good with those talons and that beak.
