have some new trim to put in my e36, but I want to paint the wooden trim black.

Any suggestions as to the best way to do this? I know I could get it done at a body shop, but I don't necessarily need exterior paint.
I would just like the parts to look shiny and black, kind of an OEM look.
Should I just get a can of spray paint from Autozone and go to town?

sand it down, then use a filler primer. Sand again. Paint. Sand. Paint. Sand. Clear. Sand. Clear. Sand. Polish.
