Hey guys,
I'm going to be potentially driving through KC and St Louis in early July and I need a little help.
I'm going to have my 90lb yellow lab with me and I need some recommendations of decent suburbs where I can find a pet friendly hotel to stay.
I'd prefer a place that's nice, quiet and not in the middle of the city so I don't get hosed with traffic...
Can anyone help out?
TIA!

how are you going through STL? What highways are you using to pass through? I am assuming that at some point you will be on I70 to KC.

I'm going to be taking I-71 South from Cleveland to Columbus where I'll pick up I-70.
I don't need recommendations for the actual hotels, what I'm looking for are recommendations of the town/suburbs around those cities that I should be looking at for hotels...
Ya know, I don't wanna end up making a reservation at some hotel that's in a bad part of town or something. I want to stay in the nicer parts of town...

Ofallon MO is like 30 miles out of the city and is pretty nice as long as you stick near the highway.
There are some nicer hotels off of 40 which connects back to 70 just passed Ofallon.

Here's a link with a few choices:

How nice are you looking for? $80 nice...$125 nice??...more???
If you are coming in I-70 you can get off right downtown (Westin) or you can continue on near the airport (15 miles...various chains) or out further west in St. Charles/O'fallon (35 miles). The other option is 40W (from Downtown) which hooks back up with 70W at Wentzville. There is the Ritz Carlton in Clayton (5-10 minutes off 40W...Hanley Rd. N exit into Clayton center).
Nice option (might be pricey) might be the Chase Park Plaza in the city's Central West End. It lies on the corner of Forest Park...the country's largest urban park...great walking paths for the puppy. Exit at Kingshighway N off of 40W (corner of Kingshighway and Lindell Blvd...5 minutes).
Let me know if you need anything else on the way thru...I'm on the city's southside and have pretty extensive garage facilites/tools/etc.
Good luck...

Thanks Mark! I'm looking to spend $125 or so for a decent place. The Ritz is probably a bit out of my price range, but would be an awesome place to stay...

Actually I think you can get a room at the Ritz for about $150 a night. I stayed there on my wedding night and it is a very nice place. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay I have a futon at my shop and we allow pets...lol. :biglaughb
