Hi
I bought a '93 850Ci a few months ago and it is a great car, but being a bit of a child I am looking at a few options and wondered if any of you had tried any of them. It is an auto, (4 speed box), with 80k miles and importantly it still has a BMW warranty which I don't want to lose. I have been thinking about 3 things:
1. Birds in the UK can upgrade the box to a steptronic using the wheel adjustment lever for changes at about £1,200;
2. £2,500 on completely new suspension;
3. A Motronic chip set.
The car is in excellent condition so merits the investment but would I be better off looking for a Csi? To be honest the engine isn't exactly lacking so it is the handling I am more interested in, but a little extra torque is always nice......
Cheers
Julian
(Incidentally, the car was used in BMW magazine a few months ago in an article tracing big coupes from 6 through 8 back to the new 6 and today it was used by another magazine looking at big coupes along with an XJS, 560SEC, and 928. I'm still happy with my choice, but the 928 did sound gorgeous with what must have been close to straight through pipes!)
