Hey,

I have some wear on the bolster of my drivers seat in my 95 m3, and also a bit where you place your arm on the center armrest. You can see the brown of the leather through the dye(I have black lux seats). I have read in quite a few posts that leatherique seems to be the way to go, everyone raves about it. I'm wondering if anyone would happen to know which code number the black color of a black 95 m3 color is so I can order the right color dye. I want to get the entire rejuvenation/cleaning/dye kit to do the front two seats, so I was also wondering if anyone knows about how much I can expect to pay and where the best place is to buy it?? Autogeek perhaps? I checked and they offer a 16 and 32 oz kit, would 32 be way more than I need?

Thanks,

-Aaron

to get the exact color match.. you can do two things
1. call a dealer and give them your VIN, they'll tell you the color (assuming these are the original seats)
2. take a swatch from the bottom of your seat and send it to them.

Call Leatherique (http://www.leatheriqueorder.com/salespage.asp) , they'll hook you up on the pricing and tell you exactly how much you'll need.

Ageed.

As far as the 32oz size being too much, you should go for it. Remember, you're still going to want to periodically clean and condition the leather after you re-dye them, so you'll easily use up any that's leftover from the re-dying process.

Thanks for the help guys!

One last question, should I try and figure out how to take the seats out of the car to do this or is this a process that can be carried out safely without removing them? I would be inclined to think you can leave the seats in (thats how the back seat would have to be done) but please let me know, anyone thats done this, if its better to remove the seats from the car entirely.

Thanks,

-Aaron

Remove the seats. You're working with liquids that stain, the potential for disaster is very great. Remember, you not only have to dye the seats, you also have to strip them down, sand them, etc. Even if you don't spill, you'll end up with a mutch more uniform and seamless result if you take the seats out and work outside of the car.

You should look at the Leatherique website. They have some write ups and testimonials from people who have used the product that you'll find helpful.

I guess maybe I should ask these two questions next...

1. Can I dye just a section of a seat (just the bolster closest to the door) or do I have to stip and redye the whole seat? The color on the rest of the seat is fine and I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it all again.

2. How hard is it to remove my seats (I have the lux ones, heated, 6 way power adjustment) and how exactly do I go about doing this?

Any help as always is much appreciated.

Thanks,

-Aaron
