View Full Version : Boot Spoiler and Wheels for E28
E24_635csi 06-04-2004, 11:20 PM I was just looking through some cars on Cardomain.com and I cam across this e28 M535i. It has a boot spoiler that looks really good, and reminds me of the ones of the 6er's. Is this the same spoiler from the 6ers or is it just something made for the e28s? ,Where could I find one? , And would this spoiler fit on all models of E28s?
Also I really like the wheels on the car. Can someone identify these wheels for me.
Thanks

Go to mye28.com
There are several people over there with extensive knowledge of the E24 & E28! Good Luck!
JamesM3M5 06-05-2004, 10:36 PM That would be nice to replace the cracking rubber OE piece on my M5 (also on the 535is). I like. If you find out, let me know.
Those wheels look like they are the Mille Miglia MM11.. with bmw centers

You can pick those up at Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/DisplayWheel.jsp?wheelMake=Mille+Miglia&wheelModel=MM11-2&wheelFinish=Silver+Painted)
Typ3man 06-06-2004, 01:11 AM If I'm seeing the pictures correctly, that is a standard OEM 'Is' rear spoiler. It was also on the M5 and the M535i. It is no longer available from your dealer and can be picked up second hand. As it has a rubber edge, make sure the one you get has good rubber.
Good luck
E24_635csi 06-06-2004, 08:54 PM thanks guys, ill try and look around but seems like it will be pretty difficult. I just thought It would give the car a bit better looks. My dad also said he saw an E28 the other day with a different lip spoiler. It wasnt a rubber one, and was very small, it just gave the trunk a bit of a lip.and stuck out past the trunk maybe a few inches. I will try to find a picutre of it so you guys have some idea of what im talking about, (unless you already know)
E24_635csi 06-06-2004, 09:06 PM Here was the best pic I could find of the little spoiler.

Im not sure what E28 model it is. But would all the spoilers be interchangeable between all the e28's?

That is either an '87 or '88 535is. The spoiler is the factory M-tec spoiler found on the 535is, M535i, and M5.
The spoiler is interchangeable, but it would be wise to find one with a trunk lid attached so you don't have to drill holes in your non-spoiler lid.
Typ3man 06-08-2004, 06:11 PM It's the same spoiler, although it looks different. It comes off of the rear trunk relatively flat.
They do show up on Ebay from time to time. There is also a Hartge spoiler out there, but it sits above the rear trunk, and in my opinion isn't as nice.
Many of us are in the same boat you are, looking for a nice wing.
rags535 06-09-2004, 04:23 AM The wheels are either the RD RGRs,which they seem to be,or the italian copy(Mille Miglia MM II from tire rack).
On rear e28 spoilers,I have a perfect factory "is"/ M5 rear spoiler you mention painted white, good rubber, that I bought out of Canada for my '86 535i,and looks like I won't use.
Also have a rear e28 WING,copy of the RD one, painted Delphin, off my Cartech Turbo if either will help you.
E24_635csi 06-09-2004, 03:45 PM rags535 - I will keep it in mind, but Im not in to much of a rush to buy one. If anyone else wants to jump on it, feel free. Once I get the car on the road and I get a little more money I would consider it, but until then I think Im going to pass. I really appreciate the help.
