Helmetboy01 06-02-2004, 10:07 PM The front plate law has not been revoked. (EVENTHOUGH I THOUGHT IT HAD BEEN) I got pulled over (on the last day of the month) for not desplaying my front tag, and got a ticket for it. Even after I explained to the officer that I heard the law had be revoked. Oh well, I can't say I didn't try. So just to let you all know. (By the way, there is still no chance in hell I'm drilling holes in mybumpe r for a front plate)
hellrotvic 06-03-2004, 07:40 AM Dublin cops especially bad for pulling people over for no front plates.
nateb 06-03-2004, 01:49 PM How much was your ticket for?
Renee M Coupe 06-03-2004, 07:32 PM Sorry to hear Randy! I also heard that rumor a few months ago. From what I understand, the change would save the state millions, but state troopers are fighting it.
I always run a front plate after getting hassled by Worthington cops. I try to keep the reasons to pull me over to minimum and my tint is illegal. :stickoutt
Saloon 06-04-2004, 10:49 AM I was under the impression that the plate did not have to physicaly be on the front of the car, just as long as it was visable. Such as in the front window, I never run with a front plate on any of my cars. I just keep the plate under my floor matt and if i see a car or something I toss it up in the window, this has always workd for me.

Good thinking.
bimmer95 06-04-2004, 11:11 AM You've got about a 50/50 chance of still getting ticketed for the plate being on the dash. It's not legal, but some cops will let you get away with it.
krogerBMW 06-04-2004, 05:36 PM I remember reading on another forum about some members way of avoiding a ticket. It dealt with it by calling and reporting your plate missing to the DMV or some orginization. So when that day comes around when you are pulled over the officer can run a scan and see that the plate fell off or whatever and has been reported.
I always have used the excues... Waiting on brackets. But always carry the front plate in the car. No tickets and there have not been front plates on the vipers since new
Renee M Coupe 06-05-2004, 09:13 AM Kroger,
Did your dad decide to keep the Vipers? Any other new toys lurking?? :stickoutt

Helmetboy01 06-06-2004, 01:59 PM The ticket was $70. I'm pissed about it, but it's over now, I paid the ticket.
In an unrelated topic, who is going to be at mid-ohio for the Speed Touring car race, that BMW is sponsering?? I know I'm going.
Renee M Coupe 06-07-2004, 10:27 AM Is it August 21st and 22nd? I plan on going. :)
There is a charity car show this weekend:
Nationwide Charity Car Show 6/12 (Dublin)
This is located at 5100 Rings Road (1/2 mile from Tuttle), held 6/12, 10am-5pm.
All cars are welcome, there is a $10 entry fee, with open fields depending on the year of your car, ranging from pre-1939 to present day (8 total, broken into decades). 3 trophies per category and one for best of show.
There will be door prizes, a DJ, 50/50 drawing, etc. Looks like a good time, the last time Nationwide held a show there were some gorgeous classic cars there. This time they want a bigger turnout with a wider range of cars.
All proceeds from the show benefitOperation Feed.
For more info, contact Kelly Shannon (435-1133), shannonk1@nationwide.com
