Prodrive is taking Ferrari back to the most famous race in the world, the Le Mans 24 hour.
Prodrive will be running two Ferrari 550 Maranellos in the GTS class at Le Mans in June (subject to entries being accepted). Prodrive is currently talking to a number of other candidates to make up the full team.

I am not sure why they chose the 550 over the 360? :dunno wouldn't the mid engine/rear drive be more suited for racing than front engine/rear drive? hmmmm.... Prodrive prepared the first rally e30 m3s back in the days, even before the Subaru WRC was winning all those ralies....so I am sure they know what they are doing

DISPLACEMENT. In other words, power. To compete with the Corvettes/Saleens/Vipers, the little V8 in the 360 wouldn't be up to the task.

They run a 360 too. Both are awesome! I saw them at Atlanta for the first time in Oct of last year. Don't quote me I am going to try and find a pic.
