Hey guys -
Recently picked up a 02 M3. I am pretty sure I have 4/50 warranty and 4/50 maintainance. Just wondering if you guys have any recommenations about getting that extended to 6/100 on both. Approximate prices as well as the bext dealership to goto would be appreciated. Im assuming that the prices vary by delearship as well as vehicle age and mileage. Thanks

You have an '02... you have a 4yr/50k warranty but only a 3yr/36k maintanence plan. You can get an extended maintanence plan from any dealership to bump you from 3yr/36k to 4yr/50k or 6yr/100k.

I know to go from 4yr/50k to 6yr/100k it about $1400.

Actually, the car was already at(or upgraded to) 4/50 on both. I got a quote from a local dealership of about $1200 to goto 6/100 on maintainance. Wondering if its about the same to upgrade the warranty to 6/100. And again, if I can get a cheaper price at a different dealer.

Prices vary by dealer and are also negotiable. Call around to different dealers in your area. Also ask for a BMWCCA discount (most will give 10% off).

Usually there is a time limit on the BMW maintenance extensions... like you have to do it in the first year or so of ownership. At least that is how it was for my ///M when it was new.

Actually not true. As long as it is currently still under maintenance, they will sell you an extension. Once it expires, too bad.
