Ohio/Midwest Dent Fest 2002 - Click Here to Register (http://www.understeer.com/signup.php)
Dent Fest and Dyno Day 2002 is now scheduled for 10am Saturday March 9th at Passen Motorsports in Westerville, Ohio (Columbus Area). We will be having a cook out and Ed from Dent Solutions will be doing "paintless dent removal." Ed will be offering a discounted price, but please be expected to bring some cash. Paintless dent removal can be pretty expensive to have done right and we have one of the best guys in the country spending an afternoon with us. Ed will be happy to give you an estimate before he starts working on the car. We're sure that everyone will be happy with the service that is provided. Dent Solutions is fully insured and bonded. We really would love to have everyone come out, even if you don't have any dents or dings to have removed.

Dyno runs will take place on Passen's Dynojet chassis dyno. The cost for two dyno runs and a print out will be $50. Passen currently does not have the Dynojet adapter to read RPM data from BMW E36/E46 6 cylinder motors, so a torque curve may not be available. BMLRacer and I will be working with Passen to figure out another solution because the Dynojet adapter is VERY expensive. Otherwise the dyno print outs will consist a HP vs MPH graph only.

We will be announcing the re-launch of understeer.com (http://www.understeer.com), some product giveaways and just having a good old time. Register (http://www.understeer.com/signup.php) now and we will keep you posted on the details as we get closer to the event day. We'll be looking forward to seeing everyone on March 9th!

Tech Info and Forum
We are working on a redesign of Underdersteer.com. The new site will feature technical information and "how-to"s covering common (and not so common) upgrades and repairs for BMWs. We will also be creating a forum for technical discussions and a fun place to talk about BMWs. Stay tuned....

it may be most economical to simply perform an RPM calculation from the MPH data... since most of the cars will be E36/46 5-speeds (i'm guessing) it should be pretty simple. if you need some help, i can put together a program for it.

That was one option I was looking in to. Passen primarily does Japanese imports tuning so they've got all the tach adapters for 300ZXs, Supras etc. They've done BMW dyno testing before, but it took them a lot of time to figure out which wires to tap in to. For $50 they're not really willing to take a lot of time probing wires so we're gonna work with them before the event to see if can figure out a "quick" way to hook up and get a tach reading. If not we'll go the software calculation route ;)

KEN!!!!!!!

What the heck hapened this time???????? That 3.0L was such a good performer. Oh well, let me know. We'd love to have you come down and hang out with us. TC and I aren't on the best of terms, but we're working on it.

Drop me an email anytime. I always enjoy talking to the friends I made at TC's.

Ouch,

Well, it sound like TC is being fair about everything (he damn well should be..). I et that when it's running thecar is an absolute rocket though. YOu should stuff in a set of cams and some headers while he has the car this time. 330 HP should be within your reach. Hell, if TC has to rebuild that engine you should have Alan Jensen build you a trick head for it.

Anyway, we'd love to see you on the 9th. Keep me abreast of what's going on with your car.

Come on Guys,

I know that there are more than 10 Ohio members on this board. Come out and show yourselves.

Ken,
Tell TC to get that car of yours ready by the 9th so we can spin it on the dyno and see just how much power it puts out.

I expect to see more than a handfull of the midwest members on March 9.

TC told me it wouldn't be ready until
the first week of April...BALLS! I would
have to come down....Oh well, maybe
next time. Unless you decided to make up
with him and give him a hand. How bad do
you need me to show up!?:redspot

Yeah the weather did suck a bit..... too bad it couldn't have come a day later. Friday was 70's and a bit sunny :az:

So what did you end up doing in Columbus until 11? I thought you were heading straight home, otherwise I would have invited you and your girl over. Aaron, Ryan, my wife and I went over to my house and swapped Ryan's thermostat. Then we all went out to dinner. Too bad we didn't hook up for dinner :(

Hello everyone. Greeting from Dallas.

Thanks to all who cam out to Dent and Dyno Fest on Saturday. I'm sorry if I didn't get to say hello to everyone, but that's what happens when you sign up to organize one of these deals. We'll have to try and do another event once the weather gets nicer. I would like to take a second to thank our sponsors for the event:

Passen Motorsports
www.Republic3.com
Dent Solutions
www.Understeer.com
Bridgestone Tire

I do have some door prizes to announce:

Bridgestone Key Rings go to:
Ryan (Ryan325)
Jeff (DaytonFlier53)
Matthew Smith

Bridgestone Hats go to:
Don Bianco
Doug (LinearX)

Please email me your address' so that I can mail you your loot. Sorry that I didn't have them for the event, but everything got shipped to Dallas, not my house.

Both Passen and Dent Solutions will continue to offer BMW discounts to everyone who didn't get to run on the dyno (wimps) or get their dent work done.

And, to those of you who asked why I didn't run on the dyno, I did run on the dyno. I paid to run the E46 M3 on the dyno to give you guys something to talk about. Out the window went my dyno money (although I was just on the dyno about 2 weeks prior). Ahh, the price we pay to jump start things:mdrbig

Thanks again for comming out and I hope to see you all at future events.

Nah... he just took Andy too seriously. He's just a "tad" anal... that's why he owns a car detail shop... or maybe that's the other way around :dunno I can't say that Andy was happy about getting his M3 dirty, but I'd say "angry" would probably be an exageration :mdrbig

Andy is one of my oldest and best friends. His "pissiness" is mostly an act. He is super anal about his car (that's where I get it from) and he had just come from washing the car. But, he was having a good time and complaining is Andy's M.O.:D

Just wanted to put in a good word for Dent Solutions. They were able to take out a majorly challenging dent on the driver's rear fender flare of my car. After toiling for nearly two hours, I am amazed at the incredible professional job they did. Thanks!:D

Upon hindsight, I should have gotten some pictures of the dent, but alas, no digital camera for me . . . yet.

Thanks to Passen Motorsports for their warm hospitality! And for selling me a K&N filter!

I had a great time seeing all those sweet rides, but I had to take off a bit early to do some work on my car (fuel filter, air filter, valve cover gasket, some misc. leak fixes, etc.). Now all I have left is the timing chain tensioner before I can start doing some really fun things to my car (like getting rid of the insane amount of swirl marks and paint chips).:eyes1

ahhhh alright....

I know EXACTLY how that is. Tom, the guy with the Jeep, is terribly anal about his car and boats. After 3 years of ownership of his last jeep it still looked brand new. He even removed all underbody rust very spring and repainted the spots. It was a flawless jeep until he got T-boned this winter by a guy how ran a red light.
