Yup. Memorial Day starts Beach season so we will have to pay to get into the lots. Those toll booths we usually blow by will be open by that time.

Unless of course they stopped with the fees but I doubt it. It's just too much money for them to ignore.

We are not stopping at the jones beach lots. If you drive up more there is a free parking lot. No one knows about it that well. It's pretty big i'll try to get the name.

TDC, you only pay the toll if you want to go to the beach, if you stay to the left, you just drive past them. And NY98M3 is right, the old Oak Beach Inn parking lot is perfect, the roads out there however.....are not.

the meet was great, I had a blast there but the damn 3 hour drive up and 2 hour drive home was something that will make me reconsider ever going to Long Island ever again.

Where were you driving. Where did adam take you ,because where we were that was smooth as hell. NJ has the worst from what i remember when i went to that meet in NJ, but some other parts was smooth. It all depends where you are.

I took the moron route in - Lincoln into Manhatten to the L.I.E. etc

well you kinda did take the worst possible route LIE between exit 35-40 is horrible, but you are lucky because they fixed most of it, it used to be messed up getting out from the tunnel all the way to Nassau County. And then we have the nelt pkwy which belive it or not is paved (2 years ago there was not way in hell any car would make it) but still bad. But that is all Queens/Bklyn roads, LI has very good roads, much better then NYC and some or NJ, like Newark and Elizabeth

Dam i know i hated the belt. I was in staten island and exits under 11 are all unpaved. I was scared for my cf splitter. I kept braking mad times and it was dark too. I was stuck in traffic for about an hour on that mofo.

it's all good. that place was in the middle of no where - 90 mph in either direction for 10 minutes would provide nothing....:confused: bring a bottle next time! ;)

I did take the Verrazano to the gothals to get home but damn me with my luck. I also hit traffic on the belt pkwy going home. looks like I couldn't avoid traffic in any case in either direction.

This should be like a bling bling 1st summer meet. We can all meet at the macy's parking lot like always and then drive down to jones beach to this free huge lot. The meet will be at 2PM.
