I've seen a few X5s with out the amber , not even the corner edge like the oem euros, Has anyone just opened up the assembly and removed the aber lense, or have I just been seeing aftermarket versions?

I heard that you can stick them in the oven to take them apart. Kind of like with the US Spec e36 headlights....

Apparently the 2003 can't even be baked open. It's a lot of work and you do take the risk of warping something.

I know the guys at www.customangeleyes.com can do it , I almost went that look , but bought the oem ones with the slim amber reflector for legality.
