let's just say the car is brand new (<30k miles) from the firewall forward, minus the original engine (160k), still pulling strong, and the original A/C, pulling slightly less strong.

minus one component, that is. If I had half a brain, I would have replaced the entire suspension all at the same time, but the "debugger" in me had to figure out which component was actually causing the problem.

the vibration appears, to the best of my knowledge, to be caused by wildly wandering toe causing some interesting feathering wear patterns on the tires.

The only remaining suspect I have is the bushings in the lower control arms.
