FATT tomm, anyone going? Glenn, are you going to be there? This is my first time at Summit Point, any quirks I should know about?

don't lift in the shoot (T4). If you're going to go off on T10, don't fight the car back in, I've seen LOTS of folks smack the pitout wall hard coming cross track at T10.

Enjoy! Summit Point is a great track...technical and fast....and it's local so it's convenient :)

Yeah, I initially made the mistake of lifting in the shoot my first time out. Just stay on it.

No, Jesse...I decided to take next Friday off instead (for the Nat'l. Tour). Not too pressed to go to SPR lately, specially since I sold my *racecar*.

Quirks? Summit Points "world famous" 100mph chili gives you 100mph runs.

Your car can handle 80 mph in turn 10. I didnt believe it -- was going through at 60-65 -- my instructor (who used to have an e36 m3) helped me learn to get through it faster and faster as the weekend went on. He was right! (and my car is stock -- on sumitomo HTR+'s)

I need to get back to summit. I've only had one day on the main track now. I'm curious how the FATT events are compared to a more standard DE, as far as how good/sensible the other drivers are, especially, so please post back with your experience..

I got the feeling it might be reasonable to keep the pedal to the floor all the way from turn three through four into the braking zone for the carousel, but I never had enough clear track to work up to that. Next time. I couldn't figure out a line into the esses without lifting to get some bite in the front of my M3 (other than just going plain slow in traffic).

One useful tip: There are shitloads of patches and sealed areas in the asphalt, and almost all of them are there because that's where all the fast cars are tearing it up. That makes them good reference points, in some spots for turn in and in others for line, like through the carousel. There's a ton of grip on the concrete patches in the carousel, too. Full throttle in third, no problem. Here's a somewhat outdated, but basically pretty good guide: http://www.pcapotomac.org/Drivers_Education/SummitPointDriversGuideDD.PDF
