I know this has been discussed many, many times, but I just wanted to share a story. Just purchased my second set of Victoracers. First set seemed to work quite well, and had nice equal wear patterns. Got approx. 15+ Auto-X on them as well as a couple of track events. Flipped the fronts to help equalize wear. Ordered my second set, and off to Pocono for track time, this past Friday. Did approx. 90 miles of driving. Very pronounced G.o D. on three out of four tires. Is it the lack of negative camber, (stock suspension, and camber settings), the fact that the tires were new, or the combination of these factors that caused the problem?
Has anyone spoken with Kuhmo regarding the G.o D. and received any help? As in a refund, or replacement of tires? Just curious. Any input would be appreciated. :)

It seems highly doubtful that Kumho would replace a race tire due to "strange wear". I dont think there in any implied warranty at all (except maybe defects, not wear).
With stock suspension and camber it is not surprising to have the GOD. It seems much less prominent on cars with more modifications.

i got the g.o.d. too but there is no more visiable thread so its no biggie but i have -3deg camber and my rears have -2.2 deg so its not a camber issue there

It's a suspension problem and possibly a driver problem, not a tire problem. Not enough camber, too little front roll control, and taking turns too hot (overheating the tires) has a lot to do with it. What pressures are you running?

Yes!
and also these are R-comps so there is no warrenty...
here's a fix: throw away your Kumhos and get Toyo RA-1 or Hoosiers...or if you absolutely must stay with dreaded Kumho, get the victoracers IMO.

if you are running full tread depth (not shaved), brand new victos on the track then there is a greater chance of G.o.D. If you auto-x them first and wear in some of the tread you can get better results.

Could someone post a pic of this "groove of doom"? I'd like to know what were talking about here. Thanks.

He's already running Victoracers. www.readthefirstpost.com :stickoutt
The RA-1 will get absolutely creamed in a competetive autocross. The Hoosiers are a little faster, but 50% more expensive.
