View Full Version : John and Bill RULE!
As some of you guys know, my car's been somewhat laid up due to a coolant leak. Doby waved the DMG magic wand and took care of it-last night he and Bill cured the car of the leaking! Thanks to John for taking the time to take care of it for me and Bill helping him and for getting in the parts in so quickly at BMW of Towson! They team.BAR'd mah shyt! :buttrock
John was unusually happy that it went so well-kept mumbling something like "whew, thank God there aren't any extra parts left over..." :dunno
:D
On a really good note, we got a good look in the combustion chamber and the valves were clean-no carbon or scoring. Not bad at all for a car with over 230K miles! These cars are built to last.
Thanks again guys! :redspot :alright :buttrock
vjlax18 05-19-2004, 08:23 AM I was fired up that there were no left-over parts! :D
And got a little worried while we were trying to get it running again.
Did you pick it up this morning? How was the coolant level? Make sure you bleed that thing several times.
And it only took like 6 hours total, which really isn't that bad for what we had to do. :buttrock:
And half the shit I get into, I couldn't get out of without Papa Schosports. ;)
Yeah, I picked it up this morning. Nicky set up a cashier's booth in front of the car, wearing a DMG shirt and hat-handing me a bill!
Coolant was at the correct "kalt" level. Bled it this morning and all I got was a slight "pssssssst" with very little coolant coming out. I think you got a lot of the air out last night, but I'll keep doing bleeding it this week.
Runs great!
Again thanks John and Reverand Autox/Daddy Schofield!
vjlax18 05-19-2004, 08:32 AM Your "check coolant" warning was on last night when I parked it. Maybe that's from before, and didn't go off.
Oh, and is the seat belt still working for you? ;)

Yeah, the coolant sensor at the bottom of the tank (another one of those things on the E36 "known to go bad" list) is bad. Level is fine though.
vjlax18 05-19-2004, 09:14 AM Again, why didn't you tell me that? Like the steering wheel thing...

I told you before about the steering wheel. When James Sheridan and I put the LIGHTWEIGHT :wow  steering wheel in, it was put in slightly cocked to the left.
vjlax18 05-19-2004, 09:30 AM well we'll fix that tonight. And if you want, get the damn coolant sensor on your way over
AlfaEric 05-19-2004, 10:07 AM I was fired up that there were no left-over parts! :D
No parts left over? Are you sure it is going to work?

I kept sticking my hands in the engine bay and getting in John's way. He likes when you try to help. :laugh

Actually...
When I was waiting for Bill, I was hanging out in the merchandise section. Emily comes out and says "You better not be stealing anything!" I said "No way, that would be POOR!"
She goes "If you buy it then you're...RICH!!!!"
Yes! The silliness spreads...! Reverand Autox has spread the word at work!

Jed, you don't know the half of it. Meredith now quotes POOR and RICH now too. Here's what she e-mailed me just today.
Only having one camber plate installed........POOR
having a BMW that's paid off........RICH
but it's a E36.....POOR :)
That's my wife, the mother of my future child, busting on me.
I still love her ;)
