a test car. I'm trying to get a GB together for a strut bar from Strong Strut. We need a car for mock up. The car will be needed a few times for a short while for measuring and fitting. Test car will get a strut bar at cost. Looking to build 10 bars out of 6061 T6 aluminum. If anyone has a E34M5 in the Phoenix area to use for the mock up, or if you're interested in the GB post up.
Thanks.

I've seen a total of 2 E34 M5's here since I was 16. Slims pickings in the Phoenix area for S38 powered E34's.

I'll keep an eye out though...

That isn't good news. Any of you AZ guys ever see any old M5's around?
I can't believe there isn't a couple of enthusiasts in town.

I have seen 1 or two of them up in north scottsdale, but they are few and far between. Also, I am not sure if any of the owners would want to give their cars over to Paul to tinker with.

We used to have a '91 M5, but it got stolen when we lived in Chicago back in '96. However, if we did still have it, I wouldn't let Paul use it as a prototype, just my personal feelings.

So you guys are buddys...no,
Is it because he makes crappy strut bars, or does he just not smell good.
Just wondering
If you are going to throw smack out there like that lets have the goods
or just shut up.

I was formerly a member of the AZ BMW Z3 Club, which he founded and is still president of. We joined in August of '98 and was the first MRoadster to ever join. We were full members up until this past March when we decided not to renew our membership.

Let's just say that he and I do not see eye to eye on several matters. I figured he would have learned a lesson, and slowed down a bit, after he crashed his first MRoadster into the side of a mountain on a club drive. Guess I was wrong. On club drives all Paul cares about is Paul.

Funny thing is, everyone on bimmer.org loves the guy. Apparently he has very good customer service. Of course, he offers good customer service because he is making a butt load of money with what he sells. As for pricing, you would be suprised at what it actually costs to make his product.

Of course, the club is hurting for new members. My guess is that he doesn't care about the club because he can't make any money off of them.

Anyway, like I said before, these are all just my personal feelings. If you want any more info PM me and we can keep it off the public forums.

Good luck, I'm sure he will give you good service as well. Of course, I also wish you luck finding an E34 M5 to prototype from. I just don't see them around very often (but I sure do love that car).

I've been on several "drives" where people crash doing stupid shit, I don't have a lot of respect for people who drive over their heads. But hey as long as they don't hit me I don't pay their insurance premiums.so whatever. As far as markup goes, the guy is entitled to make money, as long as he delivers the goods, and nothing less than a premium product he can charge what the market will bear. We'll see how it all comes out. So far I can't even find a test car. I may have to just get one from Germany.
