I originally posted this thread over in the 3 series (e36) forums, but was advised to ask here as well.

I'm new to the Poughkeepsie, NY area and would like some recommendations on reliable mechanics. As of right now, the only option I know of is the $tealership, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have had good experiences with Mitchell Motor Cars on Rte.55. They mainly sell Mercedes but also sell and service BMWs. Joe is the mechanic and he is very honest and affordable and does quality work. Avoid the stealer at all costs. :shifty

What kind of car do you have? DIY is always an option as well. It seems that there are a few of us in the area who can help each other.

I drive a '93 325is.

What I need is someone who knows BMWs to check out the sketchy noise coming from the passenger side. I posted a thread in the general maintenence forums, but it's kinda hard to diagnose problems without being able to look at the car.
