A Twin Turbo Supra, Porsche 911 GT3, and my M3/4 are headed down from Vancouver, BC to the Trackmasters Day on Friday, May 21st and then we will be headed over to Infineon with NASA on Sunday, May 23rd before heading back home. Definitely not looking forward to the drive down. If anyone one from BF is coming to these events, come by and say hello.

Tom, I will also look out for you too...

Tim, too bad...I was also thinking of doing the 28th but work suddenly got busy and it has already become a stretch for me to get these days off.

I'm going to be at T-hill Friday.

Incidentally, anyone looking to split a room in Willows Thursday night?

I'd offer, but I snore like a chainsaw. My wife has to wear earplugs if she wants to sleep.

The Golden Pheasant has a Trackmasters room rate of $55.

Thanks Tom for the honesty :->.

... No worries, I figured the GP had rooms in that range... I just always feel wasteful getting a hotel room for myself for all of 8 hours or whatever it ends up being.

Well, I don't have a toddler at home, either! I didn't get to play much either when junior was that young! :stickoutt

We left Vancouver at 6:00PM tonight and stopped in Seattle for dinner with a friend. Just pulled into Portland at 1:00AM and going to sleep. Long drive ahead still.

So a few of us made it back to Vancouver. The fourth in his GT3 stayed back to take part in the Speed Ventures day at Buttonwillow on Friday. It was quite a tiring trip for those of us who left on Wednesday night. Drove from Vancouver to Portland stopping in Seattle to meet a friend for dinner on Wednesday night. Pulled into Portland around midnight. Left Portland around 10:30 after visiting Harbour Freight Tools and arrived at the Willows Amerihost around 6:30. My friend in the Supra and I had to change to our race pads before we went for dinner. Thunderhill was quite scary the first time there especially with the bypass. I really enjoyed the track though by the end of the day. Fastest time in my basically stock automatic M3/4 was a 2:22. After the track day we drove to Fremont to visit some friends and drop off a broken car (one of our friends likely over-revved his car bending valves and breaking the rocker arms) Spent Saturday wandering around the area and going to a couple of motorcycle stores in downtown San Francisco to check out the MV Augustas and Aprilias. Saturday night after dinner we drove up to Petaluma to stay at our friend's parents place. Sunday was Infineon. Very nice facilities and a nice track. Unfortunately there were too many participants and there was hardly any open track to learn the lines properly. With all the people there we did not bother to setup our lap timer so I have no indication of what I ran there. Also was quite scary in one of our friends first session when cars were dive bombing him into the turns. We drove to Redding on Sunday night and then finished the drive on Monday arriving into Vancouver shortly after 11:00PM. Back to work on Tuesday to rest.

Which group for Sear's Point were you in for May23(Infineon). What I recommend as far as conga lines go is drive off and go back on and usually got some open track ahead of you. I was in Group 3B with my 1983 black GTI. Great track-so much technical but very rewarding : ). Regards. Mike

Norman, I was in group 3B also. I was driving the Estoril Blue M3/4. I think I remember seeing you coming up on me and passing me at the track.

If you're interested, I have a video of me following you for about a half a lap at TH. A friend of mine was taping me from his 911, and were right behind you from 1 through 6. It's a big file (50 meg/ one lap). Let me know if you want it, and I'll see if I can find some place to host it.

Tom,

That would be real nice to get. Let me know if you can find a place to host, otherwise I will ask some friends. Thanks

I was driving the white S2000 at T-Hill on Friday. Too bad I didn't see this thread before, I would've stopped by and said hi. You're friend's GT3 is sweet! It was cool seing it next to the old Carrera RS.

Was your other friend driving the Sentra? I remember talking to him in the hot pits right before the first session out. Then I saw him later off to the side on turn 14. Too bad about his motor - was it a mis-shift?

Yeah that GT3 is awesome. I drove it at Portland before and it did everything well and was quite well mannered too.

Yeah, our other friend was driving the Sentra. He likely over-revved on the down shift as he said power was lost right after the down shift to 2nd gear.

Yep I do agree the GT3 is way awesome machine. I've test driven 2 times and man what a nite/day difference between regular 996/GT3. I have a '99 996 and though I would like to get one having no backseat was a deal killer for me(more like my wife). By the way I'm glad you had a great time with all the tracks you went. I'm not Norman but Mike(track buddies)- he was driving the 190e 2.3 16v merc in Group 2. Hopefully I wasn't one of those dive bombers. Regards. Mike
