Ok my friend drives a 95-Mustang Gt with steeda shocks and springs, it handles really well and it also helps that he is a very good driver.

Well he was looking at the 8 series as a new car and he really wants to know how it handles. I already told him of course that since its a BMW it handles very well. But he would like to know how well? He also wants to know what kind of suspension it has, like active?

So if anyone could answer these questions for him we would really appreciate it.

We are all over!!!

try this link. 850 Ci chipped, K-Mac camber plates, H&R springs and a special set of Sway bars (K-bars)

Owner of the car is the builder of K-bars

edit: I suppose I should remind you that they don't come out of the box like that. But total mods to do that are about $2500.

the 8 is a touring car, not really built for the twisties (then again, neither is a mustang). But like all BMWs, a little bit of money towards the suspension and you have a fine turning machine.

I drive my dad's 850CiA on a regular basis, and although I never really "push" it, there has been a time or two where I've tossed it well, and it handles fairly well. Keep in mind it is a heavyweight, so it will not turn on a dime, but the suspension is tuned well enough that it can handle corners well enough for most people. The ride is fairly good, although you can feel most everything that goes on underneath on the road.

"How does an 8 handle?"

Like a mattress in a narrow hallway...

Okay they aren't that bad, I just like that analogy. But they are exceedingly heavy for twisty work, they're built for covering long distances at high speeds, which usually means softer suspension and slower steering. That said, I did chase down a hard driven 850i once that was much more firmly planted then my car. But he had had some work done,(lowered, wheels, exhaust...) and I was in a 20 yr old MB tank on 205section tires and he couldn't lose me. But, what do I know, I'm just a punk who thinks his 20year old doctors Benz is an F1 car.

Quite a few of the current 8 owners are working on correcting that image!!
