Yeah I know this is lame, but I live in an small area, and there are mostly just shit american cars here, and they all seem to love trying to take my lanes, etc. So the other day I am on this two lane road out of town, and I am in the lane that is ending, so I look over at this sunfire and this not too bad looking girl is driving it, so she kind of gives me a smile and then hits the gas. So I'm like well fok you, and punched it, and I blew past her in no time up a hill and all, it was great, and I was so pumped, then I realized it was a sunfire, but still, it was enjoyable. I'm not gonna go up against anything crazy till I do a V12 conversion :buttrock

yeah, by V12 conversion I mean transplant an engine and tranny out of 750i/850i (a very sweet 299HP stock which, of course, is close to the e46 M3 :) ).

a 750 runs a 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. in a 3 series vert that would be like 5.5.. and you get a new differential you are under 5, and can spank anything and everything in the damn world.

damn right, that is why I am considering it, I only have 115k on the car right now, so I can afford to wait awhile, so I'll get a cheapie and rebuild, most likely will have to make custom headers so I don't scrape the groud, etc. but I can't wait for the day it slams me back and I tear apart some hick in an I-ROC, :buttrock

oh, also, not sure what kind of forced induction solutions are avail for the V12, but has anyone heard good things about single/twin/bi-turbo or supercharger setups that don't cost a ton (like under 2k)?

Hello of people, Here times a few pictures to a special E30. After 8-monatiger work I finished mine 350i in September finally. After I got also the benediction of the TUEV, the car could also on the road. Some technical data follow: Engine: Alpina B12 of 5,0 with 257KW/350PS (easily modified) transmissions: from 850i/csi; 6-Gang Schaltg. Chassis: E36 of shock struts, complete rear axle changed (m-m-Roadster) brake: Braking force reinforcement from 750i (H31-Anlage), Scheiben+Saettel (V/H) of the E36 M3 3,2 exhaust: Self-'s building with Serienkats from 750i And there I it with that stories write not in such a way has, let I rather the pictures speak. that would be nice, if there is any extra space in the engine bay, maybe I can squeeze in an extra cylinder :)

Just sell all three cars you already have, get an 8 series and put a 3.64 in it.

A V-12 conversion would cost $$$$$.

Decent V12 engines with attachments can be had for under 2K, using a 5-spd instead of 6-spd gearbox saves some money, and since both car and engine are pre OBD-II, it shouldn't be too bad of a job to awaken the beast in its new home. It's pricey, but not that pricey.

Ah, this is not something you take to a shop to get done.

Yeah, I would not take this to a shop, I know about 5 people who could/would help me do this for me for a case of beer.

Where can you find a "decent" (running?) V12 BMW engine for 2 grand?
Please enlighten me.

I believe that you can get one of these engines from ebay for around a grand (it can certainly be in need of a rebuild), a rebuild should be about 500, then figure another 500 for parts, something like this. Oh and the people that would help me do this for cheap are good friends from work, one is especially in love with bimmers, he had a track 2002 back in the day.

eBay man. Every now and then you will see a busted 750iL that someone is parting out. On average, the 2 engines I've seen go on eBay had about 120K miles on them, and sold for way under $2,000.
