Looking to buy an M3 from a guy in Columbia, SC (well, he's moving to Columbia, SC for a job so he spends a lot of time there). Anyway, I need a shop to do a pre-purchase inspection in the next few days before buying, the sooner the better.

So, anyone know of a good shop in Columbia, SC or surrounding area?

There is a place on Broad River Road that specializes in BMWs and Mercedes only. Im sure they could do a great run down on it. Its called Brown Motor Works. Other than that there are a few stealers around who may check it for you, but god knows what they will request in return.

thanks for the quick response! :)

Gonna give them a call right now. Will try to let you know how it goes after they are done with the car.

If that doesnt work, you can try Docs. Garage (or maybe they spell it Grrrrrrage). I take my car there when stuff breaks.

Doc's Garage or Imports Only. Olin or Jay at Imports Only really really know their stuff, even if Olin's a little bit of a curmudgeon.

Well, Brown Motor Works did the inspection. Very reasonably priced. Fortunately, they did not find anything wrong. But unfortunately, that means I can't tell you very much about how good they are. Maybe they missed something, I won't know until I pick up the car and have it for a while. They were very nice and easy to work with though :)

I haven't been there yet, but I hear really good things about them from several people.

They are in Fort Mill
