This was one cocky little son of the b-tch! I was watching from about 10 cars back and couldn't take anymore of the sh-t he was dishing out to folks up there in the front line and had to take evasive action!

I was coming home from town with a friend of mine after a meal and noticed bright LED's dodging and weaving about 10 cars in front of us.
Drivers were being cut up, undertaken, ate dust and were powerless to do anything. This clown thinks he's the King of the road with an expensive spanking new SL500.

This road slopes upwards and we needed to see if we can offer any assistance to the cars that were being picked on.

We stalked and homed in on the spanking jet black Merc. SL500 and can see and almost feel the delight of the other car drivers that the cavalry has arrived! The guardian beast has come to the rescue! (Glad its not the SL55 AMG!)

I was right behind him trying to get pass but this youngish businessman just wasn't having it. He was a good driver and used all his horses to prevent me getting pass for about a mile so far.

I don't know why I still indicate to try to over take this clown. Each time I try to overtake he would get in my way so I thought I would wait and plan for a surprise move!

Then as the road levelled and widened up, I pretended to indicate to undertake him and brought my 750 (with 3.64 diff.) into the powerband and immediately overtook on the otherside (while he was expecting me on the opposite) leaving him surprised and falling behind gradually until I was into the 3 figures. The Merc SL500 was no match and could not out accelerate me once I had him.
I slowed down for him and punched on the gas and only to see him slowly disappear again! He was really p--sed off! All I saw in the rear view was a cloud of DUST being generated by my 750 towards him!

He turned off at the next roundabout and when the other cars caught up, three of them waved and gave a nod of thank you!!
He certainly got his just desserts!

Nice 750. There was a 88? 750il around here for sale, but I had heard some horror stories about the V12, have you had any problems with it, and how long have you owned it.

Don't "loose" the M badge, just lose it completely. ;)

Anyway, good kill and good writeup!

Debadge the entire trunk (well except the roundel of course).

With the nice custom exhaust job people will know something is up.

reliability. But if you source any well maintained E38 95' onwards, you shouldn't worry about the reliability.
I've had mine for nearly two years and look after it well and drive enthusiastically and have no probs. whatsoever!

It may have 2 of a handful of things but it still has 1 engine and 1 transmission etc. like the 740 v8.
Besides, the extra things are probably cheap serviceable parts which won't cost an arm and a leg.

Infact, if the V12 ever does fail on one bank of cylinders it will still run on the other bank of cylinders! Handy for on a long desserted highway with not a soul in sight!

The V12's not scary nightmare to maintain as some tell you.
You need to ask the ones that own and drive them for reliable info.

Good Luck!

nice kill, i guess. i just got a 04 sl500 last friday, and i love the car. its just an amazing car. i chose this over the m3 and m5, and even e55, but at the end, i chose it not for speeds, but looks and style. though, if i could have had my choice, i would have rather gone for the sl600. that thing runs 11.9 in the quarter and 3.6 0-60mph(it was either in r&t or mt). what a car.
