View Full Version : Battery Ventilation ?

A year ago, I replaced my factory battery with an Interstate MTP 91, which I never put the ventilation kit on. After reading all the horror stories about the batteries seeping a little and the battery compartment rusting, I went out and purchased the ventilation kit. My biggest problem is:

Where does the hose route to???

Since it was a year ago, I just do not remember where the factory battery hose went. There are 3 holes towards the back of the battery compartment. 2 are hold downs and the one in the middle has no threads. Does it just rest in that hole in the middle? Or is it more elaborate then that?

TIA

That's not a bad idea. Where did you get the kit at?

I got it from the guy that I bought the battery from. It's an independent shop in my area.

really? I have an interstate battery, I got it with the car over four years ago.

Does the kit go over or underneath the battery?
I have not experienced any heat in the back or leakage from the battery either.
