well, we were bored tonight, so my friend clayton went for a ride on his sportster while I tailed in my car.
On our way home, He speeds off aggressively and I follow. He keeps it at 45. I pull even with him and he knows what is up. I stomp it and walk him without even downshifting...I was expecting to get my ass handed to me.
Thing only has like 60 Horsepower...but still :buttrock
here's a picture of him on his bike.

Is it the 883 or 1200 version?
Hehe, nice run. Maybe try a Dyna Wide Glide next time :evil2

Ah, but he got better gas mileage!
I think that's a 883.
Let's talk gears. What gear were you in? What gear was he in?

try that against a Honda RC51...or if you really want to stick with harleys, go up against a V-Rod, or maybe a Buell Firebolt 1200 :)
I like sport bikes a lot...hopefully gonna get one after I buy my next car. Right now I got a 250cc 1980 Yamaha...Its a good match against a '92 Ford Explorer :)

Nice CR...I'm thinking about getting another bike soon here.
I was in 3rd gear when I took the sportster. I'll give him another go some time to see if it was a fluke.
I'm honestly suprised he raced this time, Considerring that he has sr-22 insurance, lol.

I used to have a 1996 1200S that I modified pretty heavily. The best I could ever do on it was low 12's...

there was a dyno shootout in paterson (nj) last thursday and a guy w/a harley fatboy was running 139whp. it was insane for a harley w/original block
yeah, you generally don't buy harleys for the horsepower, mostly just the style.
Nice CR, I bet that thing really rips when you hit the powerband...
I have a '96 Honda XR250R (Four stroke) that I raced Enduros with for 3 years, then I ran out of money... Its plastic pieces are in rough shape, and the subframe has something bent that causes the rear fender to sit funny, but it still rides smooth and has a real powerful engine (not quite powerful enough for me tho). Its a better bike IMHO for trails and enduros than any two-stroke motocrosser. Anyways, I want a CRF450R for my next bike...~50HP and 240lbs = FAST. I just read today that CRF450R's can be set up deacently for the trails by lowering the gearing and puting a relatively heavy (17 ounce) flywheel on it. I guess it gives it tons of tractable power, where you can just whack the throddle and it will wheelie, no wheelspin or anything. But, it all costs money, money I dont have :(

2 Strokes are going to be phased out in about 2-3 years unfortunately.
A kid I know/hate just went to jail for about 3 years...He Violated a restraining order his grandparents had against him and knocked his own grandpa to the ground and he got arrested with a lot of meth on him.
Anyways...
He's got a mistreated 02 YZ 250 sitting in his grandpa's garage in his grandpa's name. I'm contemplating going over there soon and offering gramps 1,000$ for it because of how it was mistreated and he may actually go for it all things considerred
