I agree. I much prefer to do drives either late at night or EARLY in the morning. I know that people historically complain about getting up early, but I dont understand why people cant get their lazy bums out of bed to make things more safe and more fun.

I say we get on the road as soon as its light. At 5AM on a Sunday morning, there shouldnt be ANY traffic!

The only thing that would keep me from going on this drive is the whole mothers day thing (thats next Sunday, case you forgot).

I like Sun drives better too...but come on man...Mothers Day. If I go visit home for Moms day, I wont be able to come to either. Of course, if my professor decides to have the midterm on monday or wednesday, i wont be going *anywhere* this weekend.

We'll see. . . I'll try to make it. I think we just need more advance notice and planning for it to really come together in the future. Yea, you guys should go early if you plan to hit up Highway 9. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends.

hmmm....some people want saturday, some sunday... I like the quick, informal "lets get a drive together THIS weekend" idea, but some people just wont be able to make it. dont worry though, we'll do another planned one soon, and make sure everyone can make it.

how long is the route? like i said man, dont get too offended if people dont. usually stuff like this is planned super early.

BTW, does anynoe have a radar detector?

radar shouldnt be necessary. i run that route ~ every day without one and know all the spots that cops can hide. Route could be up to ~ 30-40 miles or as short as 20 miles depending on what we choose to do. We can do a run up hw9 take a right onto skyline follow it down to montebello and head back down to the resturant and enjoy lunch? sounds good? I will be running the route the day before to find the best one for us.

who is FOR SURE coming to this meet.

I think Im the only dark (maritius) blue 325is on campus. I have replacement front plate with a roundel on it and Its embarrasingly dirty right now. Should be easy to spot.

CRAP! wish i could make it...will be taking care of my auto detail business. Later is better for me in which it could be a possibility. I think later is probably better for the majority of society due to night before behavior as well as church in the morning.

I definately felt bad for ya Aurash. We turned into the state park up the street but they wouldn't let us hang there and wait for ya. We went about a 1/2 mile down the road and hung out for about 25 min's waiting, then took off down Page Mill to 280 and split up.

That was an awesome road, even with that A-hole in the pick up.

My favorite drive is still from San Mateo, go over 84 west to Skyline, then hit Skyline South to 9, 9 toward santa cruz for a short distance, then up 236 into big Basin Park park (chill there, no cost to drive through and park), then onto Santa Cruz and up or down 1, etc...

236 is like a rally course :)

Damn I wish I coulda been there with you guys! Oh well...next time. I knew that even 8 would have been too late. Next time I honestly do think that we should roll out at daybreak.

actually, there were several drives with Sharkey (alex in the black Porsche), but this one I don't think he was a part of (leaving from San mateo), he's a tough guy to get to come out to these things, always busy with something.

Martin, I like the plan, early, drive, eat and BS, the place where we turned around has a place called Alice's restaraunt (if nothing else), was on the other side of the street, where skyline intesects with ...forget the route number..

that is also called the "biker bar" because as you saw, there are always over 40-50 bikes there.

if you guys like the technical drives we could go hw17---> bear creek road---> skyline---> biker bar and eat for a bit and go.

UPDATE!!!! CAR FIXED! mechanic put in new hoses and one of them burst. all hoses / worn parts in the cooling system replaced for FREE!

Glad you got it fixed.Aldo I found the c/f roundel stickers,I will bring them next meet.

btw, my new hood struts just came in (finally), I'll get those changed out this week Martin (if you still want the old ones, you're more than welcome :) (once I get them off), the new ones were like $20/each (from pacific bmw)
