Bronn 05-02-2004, 03:30 PM Dave Varco at Aardarc Racing makes one. www.2002parts.com 2fast4u 05-02-2004, 06:59 PM thanks dude. i've looked everywhere and couldn't find one. :redspot Leif E. Bronn 05-02-2004, 07:42 PM No problem. If you have any more questions about 2002's let me know. :) 2fast4u 05-03-2004, 12:39 AM what kind of work have you done to your 2002? where can i find an intake manifold. Leif E. Bronn 05-03-2004, 10:13 AM I just remembered that Ardvarc Racing's SSK might be only for the 5 speed conversion. Another SSK for the 2002's is to use the stock lever from a 3.0 Z4. What kind of carb do you have on your 02? The cheapest place to get a manifold for the stock carb is from a junkyard. As far as the things I have done on my 02, the list is pretty long as I'm building it into a racecar. Interior 320 is Recaro seats Nardi steering wheel removed rear seat Next up is a full roll cage Body Right now I have the fenders cut for the turbo flares but I got a wide body 2002 with fiberglass box fenders (this is the 75). Once it is painted I will switch everything from the 76 into it. Wheels are 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. Engine/transmission 5 speed from a 320is SSK from Ardvarc racing Dual Weber 45 DCOE's 11:1 compression 304 degree cam dual valve springs Exhuast TEP header to straight pipe Suspension Koni adjustables Intrax springs (2 inch drop) Removed the front strut spacers Front and reat strut braces Misc 320 radiator Rebuilt brake calipers Took off the big bumpers Low pressure electric fuel pump tii distributor Battery moved to trunk I think thats about all but i might be forgetting a few things. I have done it on my 5 speed and it's great! http://www.bmw2002faq.com/talkshop/forum/messages/76513.html If I remember, it seemed like all the parts were in the $120 range. The shift lever was the biggest expense at $45. 2fast4u 05-03-2004, 02:52 PM where can ifind fuses 2fast4u 05-03-2004, 11:20 PM i got a webber 32/34 carb. you don't know where to find a performance manifold? Leif E. Bronn 05-04-2004, 10:31 AM You can get fuse's at any auto store. The most commonly used performance carb on a stock engine is a Weber 38/38, I'm not sure where you can buy a manifold for it but you can use the manifold from the 32/36 and just bore it out. The BMW 2002 FAQ Store sells carbs and manifolds. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/store/ramflo_weber.html iflytii 05-04-2004, 11:13 AM There aren't really any performance manifolds available for downdraft webers other than the cannon manifold which was basically a "hogged out" version of the stock "peanut" manifold. For a 32/36, a stock "peanut" manifold works well though. The "peanut" manifold differs from the other (older I think) 2 barrel downdraft manifold because the inlet is a single opening, shaped like a peanut where the instead of 2 individual holes. This picture shows the hogged out vs 2 inlet versions. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/engine_and_drivetrain/images/hogged_and_stock2hole350.jpg There is an entire article on the faq site concerning manifolds: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/engine_and_drivetrain/downdrafts.html As far as fuses go, I had a horrible time finding any local and had to order mine. I walked into the local parts stores and got nothing more than blank stares when asking for a ceramic bullet fuse. That of course might be because I live in Oklahoma and there isn't much of a market for ceramic bullet fuses around here... ;-) All the reputable online shops have them however and they are cheap! Bav Auto (www.bavauto.com) carries them for $0.50 each. You can also catch them on ebay sold as an "replacement set". Cheers, Bob |
