Does anyone know what impact humidity and or outside air temperatures have on a super charger? How much performance is lost after long runs and the engine gets hot?

TIA,

Mark

I have seen heat soaked supercharged cars perform worst than their stock counterparts. As for temp. effects on performance, the higher the temp. the lower the power output. I am not too sure about %RH's effect on performance.

EDIT: Here is some information just so you can see the effects. Assume that the water/alcohol runs are a supercharger that is not heat soaked:

Vehicle=1997 M3 with ERT S/C system running 6psi of boost
Runs were as follows: Hp and Tq are peak numbers

1 2.34 PM hp=262.80, torque=228.70 water/alcohol turned on
2 2.35 PM hp=262.62, torque=228.59 water/alcohol turned on
3 2.35 PM hp=259.19, torque=224.28 water /alcohol turned on
4 2.36 PM hp=259.01, torque=224.14 water/ alcohol turned on
5 2.37 PM hp=256.12, torque=222.05 water/ alcohol turned on
6 2.37 PM hp=249.88, torque=220.44 no water/alcohol
7 2.38 PM hp=240.76, torque=211.66 no water/alcohol
8 2.39 PM hp=245.63, torque=213.38 water/ alcohol turned on
9 2.40 PM hp=247.00, torque=213.59 water/ alcohol turned on
10 2.42 PM hp=248.13, torque=215.81 water/ alcohol turned on

Thanks. That is what I suspected.

these are the AA numbers.. But dont assume that becaues you have water injection you wont be heat soaked.. it helps a little, but on days over 75 degrees, you WILL lose big time power over cold days.. Im talking like 20 hp in many cases.. maybe more depending on your setup.. maybe alot more...

I thought if you started getting heat soak you just put it more nitrous?
