Has anyone found out what that rattle is on the vanos? I rebuilt the motor and everything looked great.I spent my time assembling. I havn't boosted large yet only 7psi. The car runs great, I will eventually go to 12psi. The vanos didn't make a sound till this morning or about 550miles on new rebuild. J.T.

There is a little bit of slop in the spindle gears on the vanos unit. From my understanding this is totally normally and does not affect performance at all.

The primary and secondary tensioners sometimes need replacing as well as the guide rail.
