Just curious how many miles you all get off of a tank of gas. E21s are peaking my interest for a daily driver. Also, I'm not looking to make it a beyond amazing example like some I see here. Is it possible to get one that will at least run strong for some time below the average $1k price? I want something that I can work on very slowly, but will at least keep me on the roads in the mean time. thanks.

I have a lead foot and aggressive driving habbits about 260-280 miles on a tank (12gal minus the reserve)

lol....but both ur guys' engines are far from stock :D
i get approximately 250 miles between fillups (i've got a cracked odometer spindle, so i don't know the exact miles)....but i usually don't let the gas level go below the 1/4 mark (so the fuel pump's won't be so strained due to a lower fuel level)...so i usually fill up w/ around 10 gallons.
lol, and i don't exactly have the lightest right foot either :D (the engine still sings all the way up to redline almost daily)

Hmmm my numbers are kinda high, I over compensated thinking he ment from full to empty. From full to about 1/8 its average is 220 or ~22mpg.

I thought mine would be pretty low to the majority due to the motor, but it seems to be doing pretty well.
I've heard of guys getting 25-30mog over on RoachFry :devillook

the most I got was 480 km, I don't know how much is that on miles, since I put a euro dash. I know iot lasts me almost two weeks of city and highway driving at 120-140km/h (70-80 mph)

back in my college days when I had a henna red e21 320 I would get between 300-350 miles on a tank.

The 320i I have now, I would get about 280-320 miles on a tank. If I get this car back on the road, I doubt I'll pass 200 miles on a tank with the new engine, but then again, I'll have so much power that i'll barely be using the gas pedal, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hey club racer, you know as well as i do that your right, with the s14 you barely have to push the gas to move these little cars around, But the problem is with the s14 who wants to barely push the gas! :buttrock

The S14 powered cars also have to take into consideration what final drive you are using. In my M3 I would get over 300m (usually) if I was not racing or in a DTM Caravan. That's with a 15g (I think....e30 facts are fading) tank.

As for the e21, I could usually get about 280-300 on a tank back when my tires were sized right on the '81. I swapped the irregular tires to the '83 before I even started driving it a lot (which hasn't REALLY started yet), so things will still be a bit scewed. For the record, I've got 225/75/15 tires in the rear, so things are a bit screwy on my speedo/odo now.

BTW E30User....if you want to get some pointers from a local e21/e30 freak, hit me up. I'm in SD as well.

whoa, 225's? how do they fit? did u have to roll the fenders? and what kind of offset are your rims? dam, i gotta check this out a Bimmerfest. :D

Rims are 15x7 with I believe a et of 12...gotta look at them again in the morning. I haven't rolled the fenders, and since BOTH cars have worn out shocks, they do rub when I go over bumps at speed or dive too hard into a turn. As it is, they are only on there since I'm cheap. I got a great deal on the tires ($35/tire for AVS Int on close-out) that were SUPPOSE to be on the M3, but they rubbed on there since it's lowered. Figured the e21 was stock height so they should work on there. But the fronts didn't clear the strut tube. Luckily I have SIX of those wheels, o I could throw 2 of the old tires back on the front. Thus the stagered set-up. Looks sorta like a dragster from behind. I've only gone through one pair of these tires too, with the others still mounted on rims in storage. I'll have that pair on the back at Bimmerfest, with a pair of Kumho 712 205/50/15s up front. Those were the tires that came off of the e21 to go on the M3 when all this was done. The M3 now has Azenis Sports, since two of the 712's were pretty far gone.

I get about 29 Miles to a gallon. With a 15.9 Tank. Which makes it about 461.1 miles to a tank, aprox.
