I was on my way up to Lime Rock Raceway, Memorial Day Monday last year when a 1987 or so Red 930 Turbo slantnose pulled out in front of me. This car was low, had Borla exhaust, (no cats) software and intake. I found out becuase we parked side by side at the track.

Anyway, this red beast was loud, and shot blue flames during intense up or downshifts.
When he merged in front of me, I got right on his tail, and he knew what I wanted. He shifted and scared the shit out of me when the flame shot out of his left pipe! I held fourth down, and he walked away slowly. I didn't shift just to get a sense of what his car could do. (I knew he was headed to the track so I assumed I'd get another run) I sure did!
We came to a light, where we launched from a standstill. I didn't even have a chance. He was in front of me, and I shifted as late as possible, with little pause between shifts, but no cigar.
A little further down the road, a Black 97 and up M3 got on my tail, tailgaiting me for a run. Here we were 2 Ms following a monster Porsche!!

I followed the Porsche's lead not conscerned about my new challenger. This time, unafraid and ready, I hit 3rd hard with a little bleep of the gas before shifting down. Thankfully, I hung onto this guy right through a sweeping turn. It seemed that up top I could compete with this super light machine. But of the line, there was no point in trying.
I looked back periodically to see how the other M was holding up when I dropped the hammer hard..
But to his dismay he was not hanging.
He had already lost 2 car lenghts, which discouraged him a little, cause he backed off, then got off at a gas station.
I glided rapidly with the 930 all the way to the track. The driver was very cool, and impressed with my cars performance.. We both parked on in the outfiled equally concerned that our exhausts would catch fire on the dry grass. We were OK.
I certainly learned to respect the OTHER German label... ;0

At that time I had:
Jimmy C chip
SuperSprint Headers
Dinan Carbon Fiber intake with K&N
ES Tuning Exhaust
ERT Underdrive pulley.
Eibach sway bars

I now have a ERT Blower.
I hope this year I run into this 930 guy again, cause I've got two free ticket to the "smack down hotel" with his name on it! :D

Thanks for tuning in!

Nice story Greg,
Those 930 Slants are freakin' fast off da line! I've never raced one, but I've ridden in one. If I ever see one on the street, I'll probably just mind my business. :D

He was fast... He also has his engine sitting over his rear wheels... That can't hurt for the launch...
Hey how do you feel about the UUC tranny mounts?
Any annoying rattles? Is it stiffer? Does the shifter vibrate at idle?
Thanks

Hi Greg, the tranny mounts add just a slight bit of vibration at idle but you'd get used to it. I feel more confident that I'm going in the correct gear during high speed shifting. And it's cheap! ;)
I think Bob///M3 could tell you more technical stuff about it though.

How's that ERT SC treating you?! I was planning on taking a trip up there July 4th week to have them put it on. Do you happen to have any dyno #'s on your car before & after? Did they try and talk you into that OBD1 conversion?

See ya,
James

James,
My car is a 95, so it already is OBD 1. The Supercharger is great. I am going have the car dynoed again because I got an innacurate reading at this cheesy place in CT(We also tested the car in 3rd not fourth). The reason I know it was off is because my buddy tested his Mr2 Turbo at the same place, and got a low reading. We retested his car this weekend at a nicer place that had a fan, and It was at least 20hp higher.
I think I may go to ERT to have a custom chip burned soon too. I got 281 rw hp, but I think its more like 300.
So that means flywheel hp is between 330 to 350
The power is great. It's plenty of juice. You'll be faster than 97% of the cars on the road. The car becomes very crashable too. Keep that in mind when gassing it too hard in a turn.
