View Full Version : Bad day @ da track (FED EX)
NYQUEENZ 04-18-2004, 01:26 PM Well I did good on for my 1st tyme run 58 sec, only to find out it didn't count and that i got disqualified for competing cause of a hazard problem.
I guess on one of the turns i dumped fuel on the track. Found out that the custom gas tank set up i have there is no cap part to the inside so when i hit a hard turn fuel pours out of the car... So they took me off the track after my 1st and only run.
But all in all i had a great tyme lookin to do next auto ex in May.
p.s the cry baby behind me was like "Man i could stay on course cause i was sliding man.. and i have comps tires.."
Funny thing was he came up after the Tech guys disqualified me so he could get another run..! Whatevea

Awesome running BSP guys (well.. everyone else too)... I swear I was about to have a nervous breakdown... it was like I made a run, then Glenn or Matt would get me by another tenth... quite a nailbiter. Great runs from all!
BSP is amazingly fun and competitive. Like Glenn said, we feed off each other and we're becoming better drivers. :buttrock
QueenZie, glad you finally got out there. Sux that it didn't count and that you could not run anymore. However, leaking gas sounds like a serious problem. Get that issue fixed and have another run at it.
Was it what you expected??

queenz, I was working the course when you were out there - it was pouring out the side of the car. You created a gas slick out there! I would have complained if I were behind you too!
Get it fixed and come on back out.

Nearly every left hand corner you lost some gas. Get that fixed, man, it is not safe to drive a car on the street that is leaking gas...
DNS means "did not start."

Why did the person who installed your gas tank not put a cap on it. Not only is it a MAJOR issue (if someone rearends you, it could cause a fire), you are also losing gas through evaporation.
Get that fixed and you should be good to go. I think it is actually a good thing that you came out. Now you know about this problem, if you didn't know about it before. :)

I just relized why i'm loseing gas so dam much .. Like i would go to the gas station full up and like the next day or so i'm almost empty.. that has been goin on for like 2 years now...
I'm like it must be cause of me running the engine hard?

You mean the car has NO gas cap?
that has been goin on for like 2 years now...

Who did the work on your car?? I would NEVER take my car back to that person.
Honestly, your life has been in danger ever since that guy did work on your car!!!

wow. it may be a more severe problem than just a missing gas cap, if you're really losing over half a tank just driving around. It could be a welding problem in your custom tank or something more serious.
Definitely get this checked out ASAP. I wouldn't want to be leaking gas near a hot exhaust.
sunir 04-19-2004, 09:28 PM yo QUEENZEE...these foos trippin' yo...they don't know you're slick & slippery ....
dats just queenzee givin' all you suckas da gas face like 3rd base back in da dayzzz yo!!! :D :)
NYQUEENZ 04-20-2004, 12:34 AM i got it done when i was livin in Seattle, WA a body shop up near Canada did the work.. it's not the body shops fault it's a bad design... no gas cap covers the tube onlt a gas luck that covers the door. i must do a custom cap to make sure my gas dosen't come out anymore..
i'll show everyone what i'm talkin about one of these days too hard to explane..
rautox 04-20-2004, 06:59 AM The new cap's mounted on the gas filler door (the painted part of the body that swings open), so it's on the very outside of the car. It leaves an inch or two gap between the actual neck of the gas tank and the new cap, which attaches to a base on the filler door.
From what I saw, it looks like there's a part missing, because virtually everyone who uses this part will have the same problem. Otherwise, it doesn't look like it would be too tough to get something fab'd. Or, if the filler door still functions, maybe there's enough room for a very small, thin cap?
FWIW, you took the news of no more runs really well.
