I've got a friend interested in buying an X5, but doesn't want to buy one now only to have the new model come out in a few months. Does anyone know when the new model comes out?

the new 4.8is is supposed to go on sale in another month or so iirc, don't think there has been an official announcement as far as a totally new bodystyle
but the x5 this year did have its mid-life refreshening I believe

On average BMW changes the body styling every 6-7 years as can be seen with the 5 series. The current and first X5 body style came out in 2000, but not sure. Expect a change maybe in the 2007 model year.
