i just recently got my new kosei's and i mounted my old bridgestone so3s on. Last year they were flat spotted and i'd like to get them shaved, if possible before this coming sunday to round them out. later in the year i might get some azenis/BFG's/ or Kumho MX's.
Are there any shops in Va that can do this? I know of Radial tire, but i doubt I can drop by after work and drive through traffic on 495 before they close at 6.
If not, i think i may look a little crazy driving up to Fedex on bald toyo RA1's only to change on some crappy bridgestone so3's.

You can't shave tires that have been driven on. Sorry. The little pieces of glass and pavement the tires pick up will destroy the machine.

Way back in the 1980s I called Paul at Radial to order two new Yokohama AVS Intermediates. He asked why I needed two new ones because he had just sold them to me a couple months before (and he knew that they were for the street only). I told him that I flat spotted one of them real bad. He said to bring it in and that he could shave it and the opposite tire He changed his tune when he saw how bad it was, though. The flat spot had melted off ALL of the tread in the area and was beyond saving.

I stand corrected then but I am very surprised. I got my info from the Tire Rack.

thanks for the replies.
anyway, i just found out my new kosei's do NOT fit with my old bridgestone so3's. No need to shave my tires now anyway. I had enough clearance in the front, but my rear fenders would rub under acceleration, even with my 525 lb rear springs. I'd have to either change spring rates and raise the suspension a hair and STILL risk rubbing, or order some new kumho MX or falken azenis in 205's on my new 8 inch wide rims. I think i might go w/ the last option.
Hopefully i'll be faster on one of those tires on wider wheels compared w/ 225 bridgestones on 15x7 koseis. I'd expect better acceleration because of the shorter gearing, and better response because of the wider wheels.
In the meantime, i'll have to run DSP at SCCA and council events on 205 RA1's.
