View Full Version : United BMW!
03X530 04-14-2004, 02:31 PM Dad, took to get the wiper blades replaced, at United up near Gwinett mall, and they put the rear wiper blade on backwards. Therefore, the break light on the trunk got scratches all over it by the wiper hitting the light every time it went up. Now they are gonna make us wait 2 weeks to get it replaced when the parts come in.
Sorry for the vent, just double check their work if you take your car there. Didn't expect such careless work from them.

In theory, this might well be true, but it is not practical for someone to come all the way out there for service, since oftentimes, they drop it off, go to work, then come back to pick it up (without benefit of a loaner).

Yes, especially for something as trivial as wiper blade replacement.

It was part of the free service. First 3 or 5 trips are free. Didn't think they could mess something like that up. But from now on i will just get my dad to pay me to do stuff like that.

Yep, free service my a$$. How's that free service treating you right about now...
J/k. Sucks though. Hope it gets fixed as good as new. :)
kaiservon 04-15-2004, 04:49 PM Screw United BMW and their sales manager holier than thou attitude. They snubbed my employee the other day, so piss on them. They will never get a penny from me.

Agreed, Athens BMW kicks ass.
kaiservon 04-15-2004, 07:13 PM Wasn't trying to give them business. I just wanted to use them for work ;) Geordie, you'll be the man if I need a coche.
VANCE 04-17-2004, 12:54 PM my mom just called me and her car broke down.it started sputtering and would not stay cranked.every light on the dash was on. not too bad except im at work and my dad is in athens. so she called road side assistance. they sent a tow truck to pick up the car and take it to united. well in the mean time she tried to crank it again. cranked right up and she drove it to united.
they were very busy and the sa told here she would probably have to leave it until monday. they did not have a loaner for her. she told the sa that she would drive it until she could get athens bmw to come pick it up.
the service manager from united came out and stopped my mom. they said they didnt want here to drive it anywhere until they could figure out what was going on. the service manager took the car in the back hooked it up to the diagnostic machine. the car was trying to figure out what the correct air to fuel ratio was(or something like that..best i could tell from what my mom was telling me). anyway everything is good now.
i think that is great that the service manager pushed her in and got it taken care of some promptly.

That's after she remarked that she was taking it to ATHENS BMW!!!! ;)
Willy///M3 04-18-2004, 11:08 PM United BMW by Gwinnett is a joke. You are asking for trouble if you take your car for service there. I found this out the hard way.
jagerbomber 11-11-2004, 04:18 PM We have had numerous problems with United BMW, problem is, its just so damn close!!!
They really are morons though... their tech's do not know how to do a job correctly.
QuickRabbit 11-11-2004, 06:41 PM heh thats nothing man one time I took my celica to a toyota dealer in south florida and they put the lug nuts on loose as hell. Needless to say about 3 miles down the road my car felt like it was in a earthquake and the front right wheel was almost totally off. I called the dealer a they towed me back there and tighted the lugs and checked everything out. I made them put in writing that if there was any probelms with that wheel or suspension it would be fixed at no charge. it was a totally crappy day.....come to think of it I really should of sued them but I was 17 at the time and was only worried about geting my car back.
Sparc_it 11-11-2004, 10:57 PM hahahahahahahaha. You want a horror story....

atlantaM3 11-11-2004, 11:59 PM oh yeah, been screwed by them myself. Its funny when you have a car under warranty that has the oil pump nut fall off that has a stock motor, and they void the warranty for, basically, suspension mods. Then when you tell them there is NO WAY you are paying the $1400 they want to get it fixed, that they start the car and drive it around the lot, up the hill etc. while the car has NO OIL PRESSURE at all, the gear has fallen off.....bad scene after I caught them in the lie.
never, ever take your car to them.
