View Full Version : Tell your Friends. I'm a Vendor!
BimmerDawg 04-13-2004, 11:14 AM Yep...I figured that all of you guys know I sell BMW's, but there are tons of others out there that don't! I sold a new M3 to a member in Princeton, NJ (he's moving to Charlotte) last week, and thought this is a great place to get some good leads!
So, please, if you or someone you know is looking for a BMW, please contact me and I'll help you out! :redspot
Sparc_it 04-13-2004, 11:17 AM Congrats....now you can advertise :D

I know this. :) And that's not the thing...I know I've got the ATL-area covered, but it's all of the Southeast I'm worried about. Hell, Cali dealers don't discount new M3s, but I do! :D

Sparc_it 04-13-2004, 11:28 AM Come on graduate college..... so I can get a better paying job so I can sell my 330 and buy a M5 or M3
Ron17 04-13-2004, 11:29 AM What's it gonna take for me to get you into this M3 today?

Sparc_it 04-13-2004, 11:32 AM One of the sales guys at United told me "I don't think you can afford this car" in reference to me looking at a 01 CPO'd M3....knowing I already have a 330
Dick.
Ron17 04-13-2004, 11:36 AM Note to self: Avoid salesman named Dick at United.
Thanks!

 What a prick. Same thing happened when I went to the Mercedes dealership to test drive a new C230. Drove up in my contour and spoke to a saleperson (I had an appointment too!). He kept talking about my credit score (which is very good) and all that insinuating I may not be able to afford financing.
Thing that really pissed me off was when we went to test drive it, he asked if I had full coverage. Full coverage on a Ford contour that was paid for, with no A/C worth ~$1000.... uhhh, no. Since I didn't have full coverage, he said I couldn't drive the car.
Sorry about my rant, I get really pissed off about age/finance discrimination in the world of customer service. How the $%#$ does some salesman know that I don't have a wad of cash burning a hole in my pockets....
Sparc_it 04-13-2004, 11:43 AM Actually I think his name was Howard.....big time douche bag...kept bragging about his ZHP.
Sparc_it 04-13-2004, 11:43 AM But back to Geordie.....when it comes time for my next car.....G gets the sale. You have my word
Ron17 04-13-2004, 11:44 AM How the $%#$ does some salesman know that I don't have a wad of cash burning a hole in my pockets....
Salesmen have X-Ray vision. I thought that was common knowledge...
BimmerDawg 04-13-2004, 11:45 AM Sweet. Check out my Pre-Owned Special of the Week! :D
Ron17 04-13-2004, 11:45 AM kept bragging about his ZHP.
Your response:
"Oh, you mean that new E46 that's not good enough to wear the M badge? Yeah, those are alright."

You mean to say that everytime Geordie's looking at me he's looking at my package! I feel so violated! ;)
Ron17 04-13-2004, 11:46 AM You mean to say that everytime Geordie's looking at me he's looking at my package! I feel so violated! ;)
:nono
Cease and desist with the package talk.

I'm sure the sales manager would love to hear that story.

Actually he was comapring to the E36 M3 saying it was just as good if not better. I like my car....but I would not compare it to an M3....thats why its not a M

Pre-discussion Disclaimer: I think that non-M BMWs are perfectly wonderful, attractive cars. I drove a 325i for over a year before I got into my first M3 and enjoyed (save that it was an auto).
-----------------------
So, the *NEW* ZHP is as good or better than a 9-year-old car. Give that car a gold star!!!
First of all, "better" is a relative term. Better at what? More luxurious? Sure. Smoother ride? Probably. More comfortable? Of course.
Faster? No. Better suspension? No. Sound better? Absolutely not.
I'm sorry, but that car just doesn't give me a hard-on like BMW would like it to. Don't get me wrong... I'm sure it's a great car. But it's simply not going to appease the people who want a four-door M3, because it lacks that edge that Motorsport cars possess.

BTW, if you ever see ole Dick again, you tell him that there's an E36 M3 owner that would gladly put his precious lil ZHP in its place anytime. And we'll even videotape it for posterity's sake.
Sparc_it 04-13-2004, 12:00 PM for 6K more...you can get a M3.....i think it is worth the money

Well, not if you need/want a four-door car, though.
I can see the value of the ZHP... salespeople just shouldn't try to pass it off as "the four-door E46 M3," because it's just not. It's a beefed-up 330i.
What's it gonna take for me to get you into this M3 today?

I've recently been up to my elbows in shopping/inspecting/insuring/financing a car for my mother for the past few weeks and have given some thought to possibly doing some BMW brokering on the side. I have convinced 6 people (that I can recall) in the past 2-3 years to purchase BMWs and have helped them out with one or more of the related evils mentioned above. As far as I'm concerned I've got enough experience to take the legwork out of shopping for a car and all that comes with it to make a few bucks here and there.
Along that vein, if/when I can get this rolling I would certainly visit Geordie on a regular basis as he is one of the better salesmen that I've dealt with in the past.
BTW Geordie, after all the searching that I've done for my mom, it ended up coming down to selling her my wifes E34! Just got the paperwork taken care of so I should be able to hand it over this week.
Now for the replacement......hmmmmmm. :evil2 :devillook

Thanks for the kind words, Scott! :D
Glad you could get your mom into a nice one, too!

03X530 04-13-2004, 04:03 PM How much commission do i get for bringing people to you and they end up buying? My brother has been wanting a 3-series for some time now to upgrade from his supercharged X-terra. I think once he graduates in a little under a year he will finally get that 3-series.

You never asked. ;)
Besides, you've never sent anyone my way...
Experimental M3 04-14-2004, 11:27 AM I know where I'll be going for my M3 when the time comes. After my last experience at Global Imports with my usual salesman, I'll be looking forward to turning to a friend for a new car!
Btw, is the athens BMW site down this morning? I can't seem to access it to see your inventory.
Brian

I didn't know of it being down earlier, but it's up now!
fortysix 04-14-2004, 08:13 PM It's still a while before I get a BMW (December at best, April 05 at the latest), but I'm still not sure whether or not to get an i or an xi 3 series model. I'm going to college in Iowa starting this Fall but will not have a car there until my sophomore year.
From what I can see by browsing the inventory at Athens and at other dealerships, xi's are hard to come by. Is this the case? Any special tips?
BimmerDawg 04-14-2004, 08:15 PM xi's are VERY hard to come by in the south. Your best bet is to order one, as we're only alotted maybe two/year, since we only sell that many each year.
Kyle K. 04-14-2004, 08:17 PM Why are you going to college in Iowa?
fortysix 04-14-2004, 08:58 PM Ordering an xi is probably my last resort. My parents are putting $20k towards the car and I'm putting down the rest, so I'd obviously like to spend as little of my own money as possible.
"Why am I going to college in Iowa?" - Wow, you won't believe how often I hear this comment :D. I'm going to Drake University which is in Des Moines. In my opinion college is pretty much the same experience whereever you go, so I searched for small (it only has 3500 undergrad) private schools in the Midwest and Northeast. Something like 90% of their kids double major in four years plus they really push internships, so I'd like to think I'll have more real world experience in my field at the time of my college graduation then most kids would.
And yeah it's Iowa and that sucks, but at least I'm not in rural Iowa. And I'm definetely not going to end up living there. But Des Moines is the capital, so at least there are things to do.

Yeah...electricity is pretty neat.

This may be one of the wittier things you've said in a while. Kudos.
