Thinking of getting an X5, the 6cylinder 3.0L version (Iwish I had the bucks for the 4.4 or 4.6, but too many other hobbies..

Is anyone having a major problems with the X5?? Mechanical, Recalls? Anything I should know?
BMW Dealer Service? Topnotch or what? One of my other cars is aexus and let me tell you, he best dealer service I have ever had, period.
Any opinions would greatly help.

WOW !!!!!!!!

334hp !! I guess I was always afraid of modifing the stock motor for fear of waranty or mechanical wear and tear, unreliability problems due to the increased stress. It would be a daily driver and I don't know If all that driving I would runtino problems??

I saw your other posts and I printed it out, Thank You, I already emailed Albert

No Worries Mate... :) ... Hehehe, That ESS Kit looks nice, however, $6000 USD and if its a Daily Driver, hehehe, well you can always dream and drool... :devillook

The Hamann Kit Thread... I added a few things too my first reply, and the last reply I just tracked down some sweet pictures of Sharka's ride and you can PM him or email him just for pics/info ... but yeah, Albert Roxas should be really helpful, he is a top bloke and all the guys on DTM and BFC vouch for him and Tuningwerks.. :) !!

Cheers... Good Luck... :)

hmm, the only things my sis' X5 has gone in for was water leaking thru one of the windows (bad seal, I guess) and they had to replace a leather part or something or other.

Oh, that and she also got that one recall on her car done so now her car wont go up in flames :redspot

We've had ours since June 01 and absolutely no problems. We had the fan recall done, of course. We've taken 2 major trips with the X5 and I think it's the best "touring" long distance car on the market. The (3.0) has plenty of power (I drive my 98 M3/2 daily, so I know power) no problem getting onto freeways and we easily did 80+ MPH over the Grapevine on HW 5 into L.A. a couple months ago. Maybe if you're towing, you might need the 4.4 V8. The standard 25 gal tank and the 6 goes along ways between fill ups. In short, we love it.
