I'm going to change my atf and diff fluid, I will probably use redline, anywaise how much fluid does the tranny and diff need? I looked in the manual and it just said lifetime, no need for change.

Thanks,

Red Line is not approved for use in your car...or an Accord, or Viper or 944T or Taurus or Corvette or Cavalier or Hyundai etc. It is better suited for track where fluids are changed monthly & where sponsored racers get free product, if they affix a sticker on their car. Red Line is a very poor choice for extended service interval street use because they do not develop & test their products for this duty. In addition, many of their street products are bolstered with Chevron Chemical additives that they pour in like Kool Aid (yikes). You know, Chevron, the makers of world-leading synthetics, not. This is bad science.

You might try an API certified lubricant that's approved for use by BMW...there are literally hundreds available. You should be running an API GL5 certified lube in the differential. Quality approved full synthetics include Valvoline, Castrol, Mobil 1, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Coastal and other's with an API (American Petroleum Institute) starburst seal.

Id either go with Mobile 1 or Castrol. Ive been using Mobile 1 all my life on all cars that family has owned. I think BMW goes for Castrol beacuse I saw on the engine oil cap it said Castrol (or somewhere else on engine dont remember)
