I'm installing H&R Race Springs (Part# 50-410.88) on my '95 M3 (yes, I have the correct '96+ spring hats). FYI, these are the red H&Rs that fit on the stock perches.

The instructions say to trim the the stock bump stops by 3/4" (on the front).

I'm hesitant to do this though. Looking at the construction of the bump stop, it seems like taking away at least half of its thickness would certainly render it ineffective at preventing the shocks from being damaged. I'm just looking for other opinions before I proceed. Look at the picture below for reference.

Has anyone done this? Any opinions on which end I should trim, or should I do so at all. My car is much lightened (by about 350 lbs over stock weight) and even with the lowering springs, I expect it to sit at or near stock height.

Thanks,
