I have a 750iL with Pzero Assymetricos 255/35-20F and 285/30-20R. Last week I was driving up to the city and my right rear tire got a nail stuck in it. I didn't feel any difference in the driving and probably drove 30 more miles with the tires fully deflated. When I got home I noticed my tires were completely destroyed. So yeah...this sucks.
So to prevent this from happening again, I would like to install tire pressure monitors on all my tires. One of the local tire guys said that we didn't feel anything due to the fact that low profile tires have special sidewalls. He said that even if I install pressure gauges there might still be damage to the tire if it goes flat. Is that true?
And pressure monitors: Which tire pressure monitor should I get? How well do they work on low-profile tires? Can the display be mounted around the dash? Which models can be programmed to give some visual or audio signal when tires are below a certain PSI? Thanks.
