All,

Just today sold the OEM BWs - 16s with Michelin MXV4 Energy Plus tires. Tires had about 20K miles remaining, and wheels were in good to VG condition. One wheel had a nick, two had minor curb rash, and one had some tar crap on it.

Back of the wheels had a fair amount of accumulated brake dust, most of which I left on (though made the buyer aware of...).

And, drum roll please, I received my asking price of $475.

All in all, a fair deal for both parties, IMHO.

Jack, sold them locally, through the Zundfolge. Purchaser is putting them on his E34 540i. I never did figure out exactly what the setup will fit, but I know that it won't fit the E28 (tires are too tall).

I was happy with the sale.

I thought the guy might push back $25-$50 on the price, but he didn't.

Do you have a local BMW club/publication? We do, and it's a very active one. Members get free classified advertising, and I have sold several items that way...

Best part is, no shipping hassles...

BTW, I did ship some 16s (tires and wheels off my E28) to Kansas in 2002. Cost a bit over $100 from Seattle.

Jack,

I can save you a bit of work, perhaps.

I had 5 or so calls. Two were from E28ers and the others I think were E24s but not certain because I was already pretty far along with my buyer.

Touch base with me over the weekend, and I can give you 2 or 3 names and numbers.

Assuming your take-offs are in decent shape, something could pop...

I'd say you got a good price.

I can usually buy a used set of nice 235-60-16 Michelins, CH95s, etc for about $130-160 or so installed.. and I can usually find the rims for $30ish a set... so that's a fair price I'd say.

Roy, keep your stock rims...

Reed, Thanks for the update. It is good to hear what items sell for. It didn't take you very long to sell after your recent new tire/wheel combo acquisition. Best.

OK.

Of course I left the names (most of them) at work, but I should be able to get you at least one before Monday

Good price. Sold a set that were pretty clean to an E34 635csi for $300 with tires.

They all came with TRX wheels/tires that had to be replaced.

He sent me a photo and it looked pretty good with them on.

Reed, that's a great price. I decided to keep mine and use them for winter next season.

I'd say that's a great price - when you're the seller. I bought a set before the start of last winter for 300. Not a scratch on any of the wheels and the tires had about 90% tread.

I aslo sold my basket wheels and got $355 for the wheels alone, no tires.

Bear,

I thought about keeping them for the winter. However, we have an SUV, our winters usually aren't too bad, and the wife didn't want another set of wheels/tires cluttering up the garage...

Trnsprtr,

You got a hell of a deal, it sound like...
