View Full Version : Bimmerfest Update 638 cars, 1553 Attendees So Far
DaveClement 04-09-2004, 01:15 AM Steve Larimer and I from the Seattle 7s will be driving down to Bimmerfest in Santa Barbara again this year. Are there any other 7 Series owners on this board that plan on joining us? If you live anywhere within a two day drive of Southern California, I'd highly recommend it.
According to Jon Shafer, the event organizer, Not only does this year's event have the potential to be the largest BMW enthusiast's gathering ever assembled in North America, but possibly the world.
Spread the word!

FlyingHigh 04-09-2004, 01:13 PM I wish I could go, Dave.... I will be on a week long "driving adventure" with my 16 yr old next week in the 02 around OR/WA. I can't do both... Have fun and take lots of pics!

Hey Jack, OR and CA are right next door to each other. Just swing on down to SoCal (it's only about 600 miles from the OR border to Santa Barbara...)!
DaveClement 04-09-2004, 02:07 PM Jack, you know me. Taking lots of pictures is the easy part. Finding the time to sort, edit and post them is the hard part!

So true - unfortunatly the two trips are a week apart...

That has GOT to be the BFC sponsorship effect... :devillook :D
Make sure you look for our banners flying there Dave and report back if they received a good display spot. I'm sure all you guys attending will have a great time.

99bmw740il 04-23-2004, 02:40 PM Add another bimmer to that list- my buddy just got a really nice 86' e30, he's coming with me behind the 740... Ill be there for sure. Dave how long is it going to take you to get here?
DaveClement 04-23-2004, 05:56 PM We will leave Seattle early on Thrusday morning and get to Pleasanton, CA in time for dinner. Pleasanton is southeast of San Francisco on the other side of the bay. We will join up with the BayBimmerz caravan there, making an hour stop in Gilroy, south of San Jose. We should be in Santa Barbara in time for lunch.
This will give us a lot more time than last year. The caravan out of Pleasanton left much later in the morning, had a really long stop in Gilmore and made some additional long stops along the way.
There are lots more threads at http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=54 if you are interested.

Dave,
didn't get a chance to say hello to you at the 'fest last year but this time since everyone will be parked on the same lot (hopefully) i'll try and spot you and say hi! have a safe drive and see you at the 'fest.

99bmw740il 04-26-2004, 02:22 PM let all have a 7er section?
rango44 04-27-2004, 12:33 AM I might be able to swing that, but the hard part is what car to drive? The 7-series is a comfort drive, but the M5 is more unique. Might be a good place to put a for sale sign on it. Hmmmm.. Wouldn't mind meeting some of you yohoo's anyway, time to put on the stinking, I mean thinking cap.
I have never been to one of these Bimmerfests. What all do we do besides look and admire each others rides? Is the festival only on Saturday? TIA

that'd be cool but from the directions on bimmerfest.com i'm thinking this will be one of those "park as you roll in" type deals unless you are a vendor or team of some sort. i might be wrong, but a 7er section would be awesome. that way i can be sure to meet some of you guys that i haven't already met.
you going to be there bright and earliy garrett?

ouch that's rough. (the 5 people thing). i'm going with the LA caravan. dunno if the OC and LA caravans are meeting up at any point but i'll see you at the 'fest all the same. LA caravan leaves Balboa Park in Encinos at ummm...8 i think. here's the painful part: leaving SD at 5 in the morning LOL.

DaveClement 04-27-2004, 09:40 AM Have you ever enjoyed hanging out with "the guys"? Well, this is the chance to do it with 2000 people all at once. It is a great opportunity to actually meet people that you only know from this forum, as well as other great people that you haven't even heard of. If you haven't already done so, check out the link to my pics from last year at the beginning of the thread.
Steve and I from the Seattle 7s are each driving two and a half thousand miles round trip to get there. It was worth it to us last year and it is obviously worth it again this year because we are doing it again. Not everyone will want to drive halfway across the country, but for those that live anywhere near Southern California, it should be well worth it.
