Looking for fellow BMW people in B'ham to fill me in on the BMWCCA and other BMW scene and shops in the area. I am currently a board member of the Kansas City BMWCCA and very active in the local scene.
Muchas gracias.

Sorry. Most bimmerphiles are about three hours to the east in ATL. :)

Yeah, I was afraid of that, I used to live in Roswell myself back in the mid-late 80's. I figured I'd have to be driving to ATL for driver's schools and such, but wait, B'ham has the sweet new road course ;)
Bimmerdawg, I'm actually the project manager for several large building projects in Athen's right now, a Heyward Allen Toyota dealer complex, Athens Pulmonary clinic, and Athens Orthopedic.

Check out the website for the Heart of Dixie chapter of the BMWCCA:

There's a DE in July at Barber --I plan to be there!

That's cool...that's going on right behind me (I work at Athens BMW).

2 here from B'ham - There's about 3-4 of us on this board. the BMWCCA chapter is fairly active - although most members don't frequent this board.

Yeah - the Atl boys definately have a more social crew when it comes to bfc.

The Barber DE in July is definately the place to be-

When (or are) are you moving down to B'ham?

I think we will definitely move, maybe in a month or 2, I'm REALLY looking forward to DE in July, I've heard allot about that track. Do you guys have monthly BMWCCA meetings in B'ham? I am pretty involved in them up here and we have an active club with at least 10 people, and as many as 35, at our monthly meetings.

Sorry, I'm another hour east of ATL, so I didn't factor that into the equation. :az:

Yeah - 2 hours as long as no wrecks-

I'm heading that way friday afternoon to a braves vs cubbies game.. (it's a there and back shot though :( ) No time to socialize unless someones gonna be at the game?

THe chapter doesn't meet every month, but we have "functions" they drove from Huntsville up to the Jack DAniels distillery in march.. at the end of Jan we all met at the barber museum and checked it out (awesome museum - more motorcycles than you can possibly believe in one place. - the car collection is coming along quite nicely too - they've got 20 lotuses i think (several 7's) ferrari dino and a ZR-1 that never had the plastic removed from the steering wheel. a few formula racers..

Darn nice place.
