I was washing and rotating my wheels today as they have been very dirty since I got my car back from the shop after my curb incident and there was ALOT of grease on one of my wheels. You can imagine how this stuff attracts brake dust and road grime. I washed the wheels in some car wash soap and water from the hose. I tried letting the suds sit on the grease for a bit, but that didn't help. I need a good degreaser that won't hurt the finish on my wheels. They are sliver painted O.Z. Supperleggeras. Thanks for any help in advance.

I would try some full strength Orange Blast and see if that gets it off. I would buy the big refill bottle of at walmart then go to Lowes and get a nice spray bottle so you can dilute it and use it as a gerneral purpose degreaser.

I do hear good things about the citrus-based cleaners; Simple Green too. I've never used any of the products though. I still wouldn't let the products "sit" on my wheels for more than 5-10 seconds though. HTH

Yeah it's very important not to let any degreaser dry on the suface you apply it on.
Any updates? Did you try anything else to remove the "gunk"?

No I haven't had the chance yet. I had to work all day, but hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for the responses guys. After cleaning my wheels, there is now 1 reason to buy 3 spokers, and 1 only. Easy to clean. I feel sorry for those poor bastards with real basket weaves or some of the BBS's. Yikes.
