However, most said it takes some strong pulling to get them off. Probably want to have the top down when you try it, otherwise you might launch yourself through it when it comes off. :) StouffvilleZ3 04-06-2004, 12:54 PM Don't worry about the top just position your forehead about a foot over the knob when you're pulling it off. Good luck. mvalpreda 04-06-2004, 10:08 PM Thanks for the help. I will give that a shot as soon as I get my new shift knob in. TeamZ4 04-08-2004, 09:40 PM the shift knob mounts the same on all three shifters; manual, SMG, and Steptronic. Give it a good yank ... http://pic2.picturetrail.com/VOL36/454183/1469471/l-50506811.jpg dallas13 01-06-2008, 01:58 AM Lots of tards have about knocked themselves out pulling off the shift knob. Good luck. lol.... i want to swap out my smg knob too Maxinator 01-07-2008, 12:32 AM Yeah...wear a helmet and give it a yank!!! :) BTW...I recently posted about the Z4MC shift knob and what folks had tried as replacements. I ended up purchasing a bright yellow, solid aluminum OMP shift knob on clearance for $20 and it ROCKS!!! Install took a whooping 2-3 minutes. Very recommended. |
