i'm planning on fitting some universal oil cooler too. altho it'll most likely be coupled w/ a s14 oil filter housing (which has fittings for the oil cooler hoses & an internal thermostat) and an oil filter relocation kit (possibly w/ a remote dual/bypass filter kit :D )

those universal kitsare good, but you need to get the correct thread on the adapter, you don't want to get an oil leak under pressure. Try doing like Jbob and get the S14 filter housing.

Yeah i have one, for the S14. I usd he s14 oil filter housing(obviously), but i didnt use the s14 oil cooler, i used a universal one. what we did was mount it upright right next to the radiator, we cut out the section of the radiator support in front of it so it has direct airflow through the grill, works great!

Yeah it is a lot of money, but what can you do.
All of the AN fittings are between $20 and $30 each and you need 6 of them, then the special metric adapters for the oil filter housing are $50 each and you need 2 of those. The E28 M5 Oil Cooler is about $300. Then you have the AN Hose which is like $20 per foot and you need about 7 feet of that. So it after adding it all up, it gets expensive pretty quickly.
